You drink the cool iad that many (light skinned) Latins gave you. Talk about the hypocrisy of people who scream and rant and rave if any one suggests that racism exists, but yet OPEN disparities exist and, when there are serious attempts to deal with this, as in Brazil, those involved are accused pof being divisive and introducing "American style racism".

And you need to know that this activity is accompanied by screams by many that US style racism is being imported and Brazil didnt have this problem until a few "extremists" introduced it.

You speak for all Latin Americans to know that they deny racism?

Also, you should look at this forum. There are plenty of people here that would deny stop and frisk is racists. Granted, they aren't Black, but there are certainly Americans who do indeed deny racism. There are a lot of people who would shut down all talk of racism and its impact on history by dismissing it as politically correct.

And their denigration of AAs who have made far more progress in reducing the disparities caused by historic racism than equivalent groups have made in most parts of latin America.

And oh yes there is a notion that any light skinned person can be considered white, but yet they jump all over nominally mixed race African Americans/West Indians who self identify as black.
Number, I don't give a CRAP what Latin Americans think of African Americans, or what they call themselves, or what think they of anyone. I know I'm better than everyone, so I don't care how white or not they are. I'm an Ivy League genius, and I outrank them.

You must feel really inferior to these Latins to be so worried about what they think of you, what they call you, etc.

And there was plenty of opposition of affirmative action in the US as well, including constitutional challenges.

I think Latin Americans often sweep race under the rug while being very open about talking about socioeconomics/social class.

In the USA, U.S. Americans are too very openly aware and conscious and critical with race, but are often quiet and hush hush about classism and keep it swept under the rug.

So really it's like two sides of the same coin.

I think it's important to note that Kerry Washington is half Jamaican

I'm not saying that stop and frisk isn't racist, but there are times when it's not racist. Personally I think it's just intrusive overall. It's hard to prove racist intent. Bloomberg's comments on the matter were stupid though and ignorant.

I believe the NYPD is often racist though. I don't think anyone can trust them due to past instances of racism but also because of gross abuse of power and police brutality.
