Okay, my mistake, you said one person could live off that.
But your story seems to change. At first you were all about sticking to that budget, and always preparing your meals.
Now you have meals with clients three times a month (which would certainly change that budget). I assume you're not eating Breakfast at Dunkin Donuts with these clients.
im not refering to anyone in particular, just a general comment. yep , i agree ,real wealth and growth does not come from saving pennies, it comes from growing pennies.
Yikes. More internet millionaires bragging about their assests and wealth. ZzzzzzZz
do these people really think we're impressed when they claim to be one? Nobody gives a danm what you're worth or what you have. Nor does it increase your credibility...Trust me.
As far as food goes, $200 a month for a family of 3 is a ridiculously low budget in NYC. I enjoy cooking my own meals (although not always have the time to do so) but to spend that little is not feasible for me. Looking for specials, collecting coupons and all that stuff takes a lot of time and effort. I personally dont have the time or patience.
Our monthly food bill is about $450-550 for two peole with an average of about 2 meals outside per week.

How would it change that? Business meals are paid for by my company, not out of my checking account. Do you not have an expense account? Maybe you should find a better job if your employer isn't covering your legitimate business expenses.
Sure, it saves my personal food budget a few bucks a month, but not enough to make even a slight difference.

Another who needs to read. $200 a month PER PERSON. not per family. Your food budget is the same as mine roughly, as we don't eat out much and are most likely eating better quality foods.
You aren't happy eating what? Lean meats? Fresh produce? What do you eat? Chips and soda?
most pauper menus pretty much follow the format listed above . very little of it interests me or counts in my eyes as even a full meal for me . but thats just my opinion.

we eat alot of lean meats and fresh produce and that is what runs us 150-200 per week. ill take that salad but i need a steak with it too. then we are talking food.

The point is that it doesn't have to. You just refuse to be smart about your purchases and eat in season/on sale.
