what can you tell me about prospect park south a little to the east of it past flatbush ave
That has a notable Caribbean presence. It's very much gritty, lively, and have that classic NYC feel. It used to be very hood out there, but from what posters like Seventh Floor mentioned, it's calmed down quite a bit.

last question sorry if im bothering you but what about bed-stuy
if i cant afford nice place am not afraid of the gritty areas not trying to sound like a gangster or anything but yes
Craigslist is good but I would check with Brooklyn College to find out if owners of private homes are posting advertisements for studios. That is how I got my apartment but that was several years ago. The older folks may not feel comfortable posting on Craigslist because it attracts all types of people. I really think you would like East Flatbush. There is a strong Caribbean presence and it is lively.

It's not a problem. I'm glad to be of help.
As far as Bed Stuy, it really depends on which part. Eastern side has been experiencing some gentrification for a while, though it still has problems at times. Western side is more hood, hasn't had as much gentrification, and it can be pretty gully at times. One part Western Bed Stuy you may like is Stuyvesant Heights, which is somewhat of a boogie haven (at least for BK). As far as demographics, you will find a good number of Caribbean people in Bed Stuy, but the culture and people still lean very much African American.
