Ok. I will remind my girlfriend of that if they happen to pull her over while driving and some cop with sick twisted thoughts demand that she undress and allow herself to be humiliated and violated or face arrest.
But that is the problem right there. You have already preconceived notions. You are the type to create the tension. Immediately, you are making up scenarios in your mind about your girlfriend being undressed. You already have your guard up and whether you know it or not, your speech and action will follow. And what happens next? You become belligerent, police with their ego react to your belligerence and somebody gets hurt in the process. All because of your preconceived thoughts that is transmitted through your actions and speech.
What you are not understanding, and from a LEO’s point of view, is that we have arresting powers. Although we are supposed to protect and serve, you will have officers that over reach just like any other person over reaches at their job. It doesn’t make it right but the officer is equipped and trained to subdue and decapitate you and take your freedom away. It’s not a fair fight. If you have issues, handle it the legal way, not with resistance. Your passive resistance equates to take downs and strikes by the officer which is legal according to the use of force continuum.
P.S. its not about being sheep and obeying the law while allowing abuse to continue. its about not risking your life and to walk away knowing the legal system is on your side to use. Spending a day in jail is not worth the pain and sorrow your family will experience as a result of your boldness.
Plenty of police on Staten Island are assigned to arrest drug dealers. Others have duties as serious as investigating murders and rapes, or as mundane as logging evidence and reviewing crime reports. The two officers here are part of a small number assigned to combat quality of life crimes. Why don't you ask the men in your life about this?
