It's already happening, the real estate sharks are following the middle class like cockroaches.

They even set their foot in places like East NY. Let's face it, whatever the city invest into the people is simply an undercover investment for some rich real estate developers, some might even be funded by some foreign money launderers. If there's one thing for sure, they're mainly interested in places that are near a reliable transportation source.

Someone needs to bring these back and put them on every corner. Cuz us middle class people, to these real estate brokers and invertment banks, are nothing BUT cockroaches! If we can catch them in their own game, GOOD. I am not against gentrification when it's natural, slow, organic, etc... But when it become hyper-gentrification where there's so many casualties all at once? ugh, no.

Am thinking this whole Bronx gentrification thing is overblown. Yes, some people moving there, but most areas are still as ghetto as ever.

Am here to tell you that it's just a few areas. Will be a long time before the borough experiences gentrification as a whole.

As long as it sees investment, it's a good thing. It doesn't need the twee crap that gentrification is often associated with (overpriced boutiques, overpriced coffee shops, organic groceries out the wazoo, etc you know what i'm talking about.) Investment in infrastructure, community housing and schools, and general maintenance is what is important to keep middle income earners wanting to stay there. Most people who make median wage in this city just want a safe and clean place to live, they don't give a crap about those ammentities that come with gentrification, they are superfluous, and i'm sorry to say just corny. Parts of the bronx are indeed broken, so just fix them, don't reinvent them, that's trashy to reinvent places in such a manner.

I actually think the Bronx is on the upswing with the types of things I am talking about. That's a good thing. No one needs another Williamsburg, we already have like 40 of them now. Just how generic do people want to turn this city?

You should know. Don't you live in Park Slope?

Wow, burn! Also, isn't it sorta against TOU to say stuff like this? wtf? I RENT A ROOM in Park Slope! Get over yourself constantly harping on that fact. So what. I've been here like 10 years and until I get a nice lottery apartment, maybe 10 more. At least I'm not continuing the genitrifcation problem. If anything, I bring the area median income DOWN where I live, so thank me instead of berating me for my lifestyle choices. And FYI, I only live here because I want my dog to have a decent life. What's wrong with that again? Tell me how many people are going to open up their apartments to a 40 year old with a dog? Tell me how many places I can even afford to rent on my own? Stop being a dick.

You came for me with unjustified *arrogant* comments, so payback is a bitxh huh. Stop using your mutt as an excuse. He can have a decent life in other areas besides Park Slope (imagine that ) and many people rent with a dog. Lame.
