Lol jeesh people you won't be jailed and chained to your beds, why the need to rebel and riot?
Go out if you want to go out, just follow whatever rules are being given.
Most things in NY, NJ, CT are close already, are they not?
Only place I'll be able to go is the park and I don't care for the park.
I can't go to the movies, can't go shopping(most stores I like are now closed I received a bunch of emails last night).
I probably have enough food to last me a month or more so no need for me to go to the store. I am still walking my dog everyday, I'm positive that won't change.
I'm also still employed and working from home and my child starts remote learning this Thursday so I really don't have a choice but to stay home and find something to do or watch Netflix. Napping also is one of my favorite activities.

Tonight my child wants breakfast for dinner, so we're having homemade waffles. Something I wouldn't normally do on a Tuesday nigh.
I'm an extrovert and people really exhaust me so maybe that's why I'm okay with this whole staying home thing.

As a reminder:

From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus.

Additionally, CDC estimated that 151,700-575,400 people worldwide died from (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated.

Strangely I don't remember this type of lock down

Gyms, bars entertainment etc will be closed anyway. We we still be allowed out, food will be available. Use the time to exercise outside, get sun, even read some books. The ancient ones made from trees. Take some time to check on neighbors, seniors etc. Its best we just hunker down and hopefully slow this disease down. Hopefully the theories of the warm weather killing this thing are true.

Yea, sure, but sneezing and coughing is going to project it a good distance and studies on previous coronaviruses have shown they live on surfaces for a while and current studies show this one lasts for a while on surfaces. Supposedly its viability is a lot longer on plastic than other materials, so if you get delivery or takeout, hopefully they made the switch to paper and cardboard.

We'll know more about this in the coming weeks or months, but you should probably still wash your hands and avoid touching your face with your hands.

Yes. As long as I can take my children & on a walk/ to the park etc. (without gathering in groups or being too close). They need to get fresh air and run off energy. Otherwise even right now I'm only leaving when I absolutely have to get food and I'm trying my best to make as few trips as possible. My husband is a health care provider and he is doing telemedcine and only seeing patients in person when absolutely called for and only having one patient in his practice at a time to minimize risk. Beside, everything here is cancelled church, book clubs, theatre, sporting events, zoo, museums, concerts - So where would I even go? I mean I guess I could visit friends (groups of 10 or less) but it's better for us all if we don't.

FYI (for all), this issue was discussed in the moderator section and some mods are not allowing it at all in local forums, taking the view that ALL corona discussion belongs in the current events section. We’re being told to manage as we see fit and I believe this is the best way for us.
Thanks.

If anyone is reading this and doesn't want the shutdown, ping city hall. It may not do anything, but it if enough people do, Bla might flip flop the other direction.
