In theory, NYC is supposed to be a place where all comers are welcomed, no matter where they come from. As represented by the Statue of Liberty.
In reality, Mayor Adams and all the progressives who use that theoretical claim to exert moral superiority over others react like this when outsiders come:
That is just an inspirational statue. It has zero to do with our laws, the amendments and our rights as legal citizens of the United States.
The poem at the base of that statue is just a poem but every pro-illegal under the sun just loves to misinterpret that poem. That poem is not anywhere in our constitution saying to let everyone in.
All of our founding fathers made very distinct warnings about how and why Not to just let everyone in.
Very easy way to enforce illegal immigrant laws. Most illegals don't show up for their court date. So, impose bail requirements. Since immigration is a FEDERAL MATTER, NY has 0 authority to affect it. If someone doesn't show up then they forfeit their bail. Watch how quickly all the NGOs and liberal lawyer foundations turn republican when the money they put up to ensure Abafou, Jorge, and Achmed don't show up for their hearings.
The good old days of keeping them in constant limbo and constant fear of being Caught and Detained and Deported. Keep them in hiding. Keep them on the run. Keep ICE on their backs. Send them all back.
Funny how no one mentions those who try to come here legally and are waiting for years to get in.

Kind of ironic, since the bourgeoisie liberals of NYC all vote for policies that are pro illegal immigrant, and NYC is a "sanctuary city".
You NY'ers gotta make up your minds. Either accept illegals or don't.
If you're not going to be a sanctuary city, then don't advertise that fact.
If you're not going to take in illegals, then stop voting for policies and parties (Democrat party) that exacerbate illegal immigration.
In other words, use some common sense!
