The article literally says: that many of the migrants who are being bused from Texas did not want to go to New York, "Many want to go to places like Florida where the largest community of Venezuelans live.".
Texas should have asked them where they wanted to go, but since they did not, New York asked and they said Florida, so here we go. For me, that's completely rational. Or are you saying New York should force those people to stay against their will?
No one invited them and they are here illegally.
All should be deported to,North Pole to make a point.
Florida is NOT a sanctuary state.
The voter constituents of Florida do not want them, so they have to go elsewhere.
Non-citizens don't get to decide, America isn't "Have it your way", this isn't Burger King, this is a sovereign nation.
That's Florida's problem. If those people want to go there and New York is not the destination they wanted to go, that's where they should be going and Florida should handle them or send them back to Texas. That's not a New York problem at all then, would Texas have asked them the right question about the destination.

Why do you keep saying refugees and asylum seekers are illegal immigrants? There might be attempts of fraud, but most refugees and asylum seekers are NOT classified as illegal immigration. In fact, it's a type of immigration that has nothing to do with crossing the border illegally or staying over your visa.
That kind of misconception is what's creating this weird situation where people confuse those refugees for illegal immigrants. Real illegal immigrants should be stopped strongly, but refugees are not. Now some may try to fake it by not presenting a valid ID. Those can be investigated. But most are simply refugees displaced due to their countries' situation.

Because I want this country to check people who come in here.
Back in late 80s, my folks had to wait 5 years with numerous interviews to enter LEGALLY.

You’re the one misunderstanding. They are not legal. There is a process that one has to do through to seek refugee status. I have a friend who’s a refugee from Russia. She came here ten years ago because of her being gay and not accepted over there. She just didn’t get on an airplane and come without papers.

If you have a war, you hop on whatever you can, you are not going to wait for the referral of the US Refugee Admission Program.
You will just request the referral from the USRAP once you're at the border.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of misuse of that "right" in many countries. People know that requesting asylum actually forces the hosting country to allow for that investigation to happen, and it buys them time. But the act of requesting asylum itself is not illegal and is available to anyone by agreement of international laws.
Now, if Texas sent those asylum seekers to New York or anywhere without even doing their due diligence, they should be strongly penalized for not enforcing the regulation. The state at the border is supposed to do that job, as NY does its job with its airports/harbors or the Canadian border for example.
So let's assume Texas did its due diligence and we're talking about refugees who have been investigated and accepted. Then they are refugees, not illegal immigrants.
TLDR: If Texas did its job, then these are not illegal immigrants but refugees by international laws.
If Texas did not do its job, then the blame is on Texas for not enforcing regulations and the relevant investigations.

Yes, and we agree. The assumption is that Texas checked them, investigated them, and approved them. Hence they're sending them to NY, as refugees, not illegal immigrants.
If you're saying Texas did not bother checking on them, then blame Texas for not doing its job as a border state.
I dont understand why Texas doesnt close the border and refuse anyone entry.
