I miss NoKudzu and suspect she has passed.

NewMexicoNita and her husband (she called him Spoiled Brat) both died in December 2020 just a few days apart. Many posters on CD inaccurately said it was covid. I have done business with her travel agent daughter. She explained to me that Spoiled Brat had been ill for several years with various serious Conditions. Nita had cancer, but wasn't that ill. Her daughter feels that she just gave up when her husband died. They were married for nearly 60 years.

I miss Nita, as well as Dirt Grinder and Escort Rider.

The Villages Guy was very sweet and had chronic, debilitating back problems, and multiple surgeries.. But he had a sense of humor about it. We corresponded frequently by DM and eventually his physical life sucked. He disappeared very suddenly a couple of years ago. I DO wish the moderators would honor him as an Eternal Member.
I am in touch with NoKudzu. She is very much alive. I'll tell her that you miss her, jkgourmet.

House of Grass? Although, depending on state weed laws... that might get you in trouble with the authorities & give you a bad rep in the 'hood... or, conversely, yours might become the most popular abode...

That's great news, Sheena! Lots of us (myself included!) have been worried since the last she posted was about some concerning health issues. I hope she and her girls are doing well!

Yes. She was a great mom. I think that they adopted two children and years later two more. She was also a magnificently wonderful gardener.

Start an epic thread like this one. Someone will eventually notice that you're gone.

I miss mr magoo, too. His dad and grandparents were from the area where I grew up. We talked about the long gone stores, parades, church bazaars, and other old coal town things.

Tell her that I miss her. She taught me a lot about plants and gardening.

I'm not so full of self-importance to think I would be greatly missed, lol but there might be a few who would wonder. When my mom died in 2017, I stopped posting for about 6 months but I did stop in to say why I wouldn't be here for a while. I haven't a clue as to why I didn't want to post at ALL but at the time I was engaged with a 2 month long, daily posting battle on Great Debates. In fact, I was literally posting here at her time of death, a few miles away. Got the phone call from my dad as I was typing. I just didn't have the heart to keep fighting.

Also, Covid being what it is, has brought out something in me that some posters here don't appreciate. As a "prolific" antivaxxer (was so, before it was "cool"), I'm sure there are some here who are just waiting for a chance to dance on my grave, lol!

Unfortunately for them, it's not likely that covid will be my undoing. Something else going on in my life right now would be. I'm living in a very high-risk environment. I told my daughter that I want her to be honest about it, if that does actually happen.

(I have this weird opposite-jinx thing that has happened my whole life. If I keep a suspicion to myself; it will actually happen. If I release it into the universe; it won't, lol. So there. I have dispelled the negative energy surrounding the probable cause of my potential untimely demise & therefore, diluted the threat. Whew!)
You really need to involve your entire family in finding a solution to this issue if your very life is on the line. Your demise will not solve this issue in any way. It will only rip your family apart and leave bitterness and recriminations that will never heal for the survivors.

I don’t know how you do it…

What about some non-lethal self-defense if legal in your state- like a taser or some mace?
In addition to a situational awareness - like never have your back facing the person?.
Remove all potentially dangerous objects- sharp or heavy and unattached?

Maybe you should take some self defense classes? Get a trained a protective large dog- like police has?
( there is a specific training and behavior molding that the dog only protect you- the master who is the only one feeds, walks and trains the dog- no co-mingling of other individuals allowed)

P.S. would definitely miss you, your posts- with a valuable research links!

Saying a few prayers for you..
