I like NC, SC, GA, FL in the south.

I vastly prefer NC to VA. I Never get why some wish to be like VA

Just wish NC people were more progressive, less rigid, less religious...
...more accommodating, more forgiving, more accepting.

Maybe because VA is more progressive and historic?

What do you have against VA? I don't get it.

Come to Atlanta for a while, and soon you'll think NC is one of the most honest & upstanding places ever!

Our corruption runs so deep that it's got it's own corruption!

I don’t have anything against VA, nor any ties to it.

I just think people who lament NC not being as progressive as VA Should realize it’s not necessarily VA just being a progressive State, it’s more like a conservative state just so happens to be on the border of a very liberal city that massively puts the thumb on the scale towards the D column.

Yeah that's a big part of it, but I think there are examples of the state being relatively progressive outside of NoVA or before NoVA got so big and liberal. After all, it was the first state to elect an African American governor and this was in the late 80s.

Yeah. But compared to NC, I don’t see it being more progressive than NC and arguably not as progressive as NC. Some people act as if as straight as you hit the VA border, it’s a progressive safe space. That is if we take out DC suburbs.

I think NC generally is a state with moderate people. Or at least as moderate as VA minus NoVa

I live in VA and am fiscally conservative, anti-war. What is this liberal snooty nonsense you are associating with my state?

Having lived in numerous states as a military guy, I retired in NC to a lakefront home and love it here!
