That's one of the things we love about Waikiki. We walk everywhere there and get lots of exercise. We've walked from the zoo to China town and back. We've also walked from the zoo to Murakami Stadium. Lots of things to do in the Waikiki/Honolulu area and lots of walking to get to them and back!

That's okay if your a young man, but when your old like I am, and disabled on top of that. It does make a difference. We had to park a couple of blocks off of Beach Walk, then walked straight down the alley next to the IMP and did a little shopping in the alley. After that we walked up to Mickey D"s then up to the jetty and crossed the street, walked back the way we came after stopping along the beach to see the changes.

After that, this ole man had to rest up the rest of the day.....lol. Going next door in a bit to watch the fireworks for the third and last time as our time is quickly running out.

Club Rock Za is not too far from Hale Koa. That might be a little motivation to get a person up and walking for a final hurrah before leaving the island. I don't know ... Just thinkin'.

Yeah you know thats one thing i think people take for grantted in Honolulu. You can practically walk anywhere because its not so spread out. I remember walking from kapahulu blvd to ala moana shopping center and back most everyday when was kid.

Nice catch there HBH. Nice and mellow. Well, this great trip is coming to an end fast. Was planning on leaving Tue. 23rd, but the only flight out is Sunday night about midnight, that or wait until the 25th or 26th when they would have other flights. So, after going back up to Schofield and to Dole Plantation again for the last time and whatever else we can get into.....lol. I guess we will turn in our rental car Sunday afternoon and try and talk Viper into coming in from the country and playing taxi....lol, to get us to Hickam about midnight for our flight.

We came over on a C5A-Galaxy the largest AC that the air force is flying, and we may be going back on a C-17 cargo, side by side seating along the firewall. It's a five and a half to six hour flight back, a bit longer in the air on the way back.

All I can say is MAHALO to all you fine friends for helping this old soldier out and bringing him back to the home of his youth. Because of many injuries in Viet Nam, I had lost a lot of my memory and would only have bit's and pieces pop up now and then. By coming back, it has reinforced those bit's and pieces and helped me to remember the good times.

Today is my daughters fourth birthday and tomorrow is mine, it was great to share that with her. Again, mahalo my friends, to each and every one of you.

Tom

No HBH, I never did really get lost, thanks in part to my GPS. Very glad I brought it. Yes there was many changes since I was last here, and no. None of them were really any good changes. I remember better times back then we have here now, not all these changes are good, but they had to happen. Hope all is well with you.

You guys all must be asleep, no one has answered lately......hmmmm. Any way, leaving my hotel in a couple of hours to go sit at the airport. Have two flights out just after midnight. Hope to be on one of them. Both are C-17's. Again, MAHALO to you all for your help these past few months.
