I loved reading about your quiet time, Pleroo. That is me. I had a friend come over and he would sit with me outside (think brewskies) and he would talk non-stop. One time some coyotes were howling up a storm just 40 yards from us and he never missed a beat. He just kept talking non-stop. I think he needed a different type of therapy from me. Whatever works, right?
I voted for Bernie as a write-in. Just could not choose one of the others, and I knew my state would go for Hillary, so I went with my conscience.
My hair stylist also wrote Bernie in. I held my nose and voted for Hillary. Of course I voted for Bernie in the primary. I voted for Bernie whenever he was on the ballot. I am very proud to say that he is my senator.
One thing that I will NEVER get over about Vermont politics, our elective officials are very personable. When I lived in other states, half the time I didn't even know any of them and of course never had a change to meet them. But, since moving to Vermont, well, my first year here, I was at work and Pat Leahy walked right by me. (He was visiting my place of work.) Of course I had no idea who he was at the time. Hubby has a story (again, this was before I met him), his daughter was in Girl Scouts and they were working on a leadership badge. They wanted to interview Pat. Hubby called Pat's office and sure enough, there was Pat Leahy talking about leadership to a bunch of 13 year old girls.
I already told you about some of the times meeting Bernie-even though we have met him many times other than the times I mentioned. We have met Howard Dean (who used to be the governor and ran for pres before running the DNC), he was replaced by Jim Douglas who was at a Christmas party we were at. And we met our last governor when he was speaking at an event with Bernie. We have ran into our Rep Peter Welch a few times-just walking down the street.
Oh, this isn't about Vermont politics but Washington D.C. politics. My dad lived in D.C. When he passed away in 2012, we sold his house. We found out that the person who we sold the house to, recently sold the house to the mayor of D.C. So, the mayor of D.C. is now living in my dad's house. I wonder if my dad is haunting the place. lol.
Those of us who live where there's too much light pollution are doubly impressed when we get to see the full impact of the night sky.
I remember looking up at the sky in the night by the Grand Canyon and thinking, I'm not even as much as an ant in the grand scheme of things, yet at the same time felt such a part of it all.
Sometimes it's just scary to think about how big the universe is, it gives me a weird feeling that can only be described by me, as the biggest mountain in the world completely covered and hidden by the ocean in 6 miles of ocean. I mean, it would be so scary for me if I went diving down on an immense mountain under water that is full of caves and just knowing how big that mountain is underneath me, it's hard to get my mind around. But then I do have this fear of water from swimming in deep water wondering just what is beneath me. We used to swim like that, we would take a boat so far from land that you couldn't see land and the water was so clear, so expansive, but I wouldn't do that again if you paid me. That was the feeling I got when we last did that, the unknown is so terrifying sometimes.
Last night the coyotes were so loud I finally opened the front door at 1am and shouted "Enough already!!"
They didn't listen.
In fact....I think I heard one laughing at me.
The reason they howl is because they are mourning for those who they loved amongst the pack that are no longer with them, they miss them and they howl and howl.
I guess there is more than one opinion, but when I hear wolves howl, I like to think of love and I agree with these guys maybe, but when I first thought and read about howling, it wasn't from scientist in Australia so maybe a lot of people believe this...

I think they howl with joy at the wonders of the night sky.
I know it's verboten to discuss anything about moderators and how they go about their tasks but I wonder if it's ok to think long and sadly about it occasionally.
Perhaps I'll find out it's fine to think about, but not post about thinking about.
