I must of had half a dozen in my room, some I wired to play in the bathroom, no one had a sound system in their bathrooms in those days (1960). It had the worst tinny sound. How did we ever put up with listening to those films with such junk speakers!

THX video way cool..

Serious bud! Six of 'em??? Hmmm lol guess that says something doesn't it? Must've been busy.

Since we are talking airfields, let's not forget Whitey Brayer of Whitey's radio and TV stores in Phoenix during the 50's and 60's. Whitey was stationed at Williams Field as a photographer; he invented a special Speed Graphic camera and cockpit for taking aerial photos of Europe plus the various training aircraft in flight at Williams field. The planes I have seen pictures of were the AT-9, AT-17 (one of these was canvas covered) and AT-6. The first two were twin engine and the last single engine. These photos were over the Mesa, Maricopa County area. If there is any interest I will post a full article, he was an amazing man specializing in war radio technology and even taking over German camera factories and sending hundreds of scientists to America.

McLaughlin was also responsible for saving thousands of negatives and photos of old Phoenix by buying entire collections when collecting was not popular. His widow donated some 200,000 negatives and photos to ASU, and incredible gift since she could have sold them easily.

Ahh...pre-zip codes...but I see the phone number has already gone to all numbers and no letters. I wondered which was first and now I know.

Any of you still in Phoenix might be able to answer this question. I found Paul Yoder on Facebook last night and noticed that he was running for office in AZ. I don't know when the election is/was but can you tell me did he win? Or hasn't the election happened yet. I went to elementary school with Paul and he was brilliant as well as a very talented singer and musician. He could play almost every instrument in our orchestra and had the voice of an angel. I can only imagine what an asset he would be for the state.

Timothys was a great place to take a date. I ran into Neal Walk (Phx Suns) there once. He was drunk and kinda belligerent.

Was it Neal Walk who made the shot from flat on his back, or someone else?
