As a child, I remember going to Riata Pass with my parents. I remember taking my son to Pinnacle Peak Patio about 30 years ago, also going there myself in my early 20's with friends.

Arizona Mike has it right. The correct spelling was "Reata" with an "e". Since I ate there dozens of times, all I can say is my senior moments are becoming more common.

And soon, Pinnacle Peak Patio will be closing, too. End of an era .

When is that happening, lots of nice childhood memories of "The Peak". As a kid I could see Pinnacle Peak itself from the yard (vicinity of Granite Reef and Camelback) before the subdivisions went in to the north.

Driving around this weekend I saw a Sherwin-Williams store. Does anybody remember the one that used to be at 43rd Ave & Camelback shaped sorta like a paint can? It was in the SE corner between Grand Ave & Camelback. Or is my memory faulty and it was some other paint store?

Scottsdale's Pinnacle Peak Patio to close

They are looking for a new location, but who knows... and, it probably won't be near Pinnacle Peak.

Your former location reminds me of decades ago, when my aunt and uncle wanted to follow us here, and were house hunting. My aunt was aghast that my uncle was considering a house on Granite Reef, which was "in the middle of the Indian reservation!" as far as my aunt was concerned. Yes, I'll bet you could see Pinnacle Peak from there back then!

If you go to page 354 (post #7080), in this thread, you will find some info on it. 48 Foothill Drive was the address, apparently. The building is gone now.
