It is not testing, it is an explosion in cases. There was a 20% increase in hospitalizations in just the last day. The number is higher, much higher than it has been at any point previously. This is getting out of hand very quickly.

WHO is now advising everyone in areas where cases are rising to wear fabric masks and those over 60 to wear medical grade masks. Try finding a true medical grade mask for sale anywhere in the US.

Here is a much better summary of Dr. Marjorie Bessel's POV. https://www.verdenews.com/news/2020/...zona-headed-h/

......But she parted ways with Gov. Doug Ducey and state Health Director Cara Christ who have said that the increase is largely a factor of more people getting tested.

The doctor noted a sharp spike in infections following the decision in the middle of last month by the governor to scrap his stay-at-home order.

That's not all.

"We are seeing an increase in the sickest of the sick'' she said. "These are COVID-19 patients who are in the ICU who are ventilated,'' Bessel said. "And those individuals are in our hospitals for a long period of time,'' she said........

* So it seems hot weather isn't helping us much (droplet transmission is the key contributor to spreading. Not surfaces).
* Our politicians are too worried about looking weak so they refuse to wear masks. Idiots. They are unable to lead by example.
* Some people are still unable to grasp basic risk mitigation. Psst. Masks help reduce droplets == less transmission. Some dopes are still debating it. It didn't help that our political puppet Surgeon General claimed they didn't help early on. He damn well knew better. But his old boss (Pence) told him what to say and how to react. They should fire that guy. Normally, the Surgeon General is brilliant. Not this guy.

I was reading a story this morning about how Europe has not seen a resurgence in cases in spite of reopenings that included restaurants, schools, parks etc. Europe, too, saw protests of the closures and other matters yet no discernible bump in cases. The experts are scratching their heads about why not. The summer theory doesn't explain it all, but the thought is corona does not transmit well in open air situations. In the case of Phoenix, we are opposite of much of the country in that in summer we head indoors to the air conditioned spaces and avoid being outside as much as possible. That might explain why we are seeing the highest rate of increase in cases since this began after seemingly being spared back in the earlier days.

From last night. This is why people get skeptical.

This logic hardly makes sense...are you suggesting that we are more indoors today than the rest of the world has been for the last several months during the lock down? That was the purpose of the lock down, to keep everyone indoors and flatten the curve.

Everyone in Phoenix is more outdoors today than they were the last couple months. Look around, it's a zoo out there today. There has to be another explanation.

I see what he is getting at. When it is AZ hot, people like staying inside versus going outside. When he said "Inside", he is defining it as public gathering. Not "inside" to mean isolation (where we were in a pseudo-lock-down mode). I'm not sure how much of an impact this will have, but that was his point.
