Agreed. Examples=Cherry picked. In every situation run by a huge organization, you can find stupid examples.

I’m not sure if you’re being dense or facetious. Surely you understand the difference between going out for toothpaste and groceries versus going to the gym. Right?

This is especially true if their living & social conditions are unclean, and bad hygiene is on display. Let's face it: "Native Americans" are obviously not the cleanest or most advanced people. Their customs & lifestyles are very reminiscent of third world nations, and they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Congratulations to your son & future wife for their service. It should concern you, however, that they're putting themselves at a higher risk by working for Indian Health Services, especially considering how unhealthy & contagious many of those people are. I realize a lot of American Indians' health issues are genetic, but they certainly don't help matters when they allow themselves to live the way they do. It also doesn't help when many of them still reject Western medicine. A lot of this goes back to what I said earlier about the grudge they still hold against the "evil white man" (yet they sure don't reject our government handouts), and it shows immensely in how they neglect basic health care & hygiene. Again, they have themselves to blame.

I realize this ... however, there isn't a hell of a lot to do in those remote areas except go to WalMart in the nearest town, or maybe attend church & pray to some superstitious entity in hopes of being saved. On reservations, pow wows and casinos are the big things, but all those places pose just as much of a risk for contamination as anywhere in the cities or suburbs. Obviously, being detached isn't helping in their case, and tribal lands are among the most detached due to being vastly rural. Proves what I said before that city vs. suburb vs. rural means very little in comparison to HOW a person lives.
Re: your 1st and last paragraph. Study their history some. I'll leave it at that. And a tip... You should catch yourself from saying "those people".

Regarding your second paragraph. He didn't pick ER medicine to be "safe". Just as any career that is in harm's way (Navy Seals, Hot Shot firefighters etc), he wants to do some stints with Doctors without Borders and fully recognizes he might develop PTSD. It's how he rolls. So working at an Indian Health Service isn't a big deal. He's not worried.

Yesterday was the single highest day of new cases since this began.

#2. My guess is that the people who died often were not as healthy or much older AND not healthy. The specific areas are related to a higher concentration of infected people coming into their city.

I think there's much more to it than that. The fact that death rates of people of European descent are hundreds of times higher than death rates for Asians is more than they are healthier. Especially when you consider some of the healthiest and long lived people on the planet are Spanish and Italian have been among the hardest hit. Could be their immune response, something in the diet, drugs taken....it's something that no one has identified but if we identify it, we may save millions of lives. Should we all eat rice?

Masks. Entire countries go around in quality masks. No deniers. The death rate per infection is not tens or hundreds of times less. The infection rate is. If everyone in the US donned an N95 every time they walk out of the house, this thing would be under control.

Your source? "Hundreds of times"? That's a new discovery.

Nope. Read https://healthland.time.com/2012/03/...k-of-diabetes/ . Rice is loaded with carbs that are related to a high A1C (type 2 diabetes).

You bring up a good point. A big cultural difference. Hell, Trump wouldn't wear a mask at a Honeywell mask factory here in AZ.

Here's an issue I've been rolling around in my head:
Arizona deaths = 517
Of those deaths, over 65 = 410 (be great if 65+ was even further broken down)
Congregate settings with CV19 = 228Of those settings:
Assisted living = 83
Long term care = 47
Other = 41
Prison = 18
Rehab = 10

So is this like NY/NJ/CA where the state told the nursing homes to take CV19 patients in?
I think this is part of why Ducey is being sued, but has anyone here read anything more about where the deaths are coming from?

Look at the death rates by nation. No nation of Asians currently has a death rate above 6 per million compared to over 700 in Belgium and over 400 in many European countries.

I was joking about the rice but that is the type of observational information that we need to identify why Asians have so much lower incidence of covid-19 death.
