Not needed. He should not have extended it the last time.

Daddy? Oh, you mean President Trump. President Trump offered guidelines. Governors make these decisions.

I noticed a spike in hospitalizations today, and updated my spreadsheet to track hospitalizations increases.

It turns out Maricopa hospitalizations increased 28.33% in the last 24 hour reporting period...the highest spike ever. The data on AZ hospitalizations suck, and I can't get a good historical picture, but I've been tracking Maricopa hospitalizations daily and it's shocking seeing this spike.

We know due to inadequate testing we don't know real case increases, but hospitalizations tell a more interesting story, and give a better picture of what may be happening.

This is alarming and people need to wear masks, limit social exposure, etc.
But, but, but each day we received conflicting information on the efficacy of masks from "experts". If these same experts told you to gargle with vinegar and stand on your head for 10 minutes would you do that too?
You are in more danger driving on the streets and freeways than you are of getting WuFlu.

The dictator told them that further restrictions won't be put in place. Do you really think a governor is going to oppose what he's being told by the leader of his own party? His hands are tied at this point. Even as cases continue to rise he won't do anything to protect his constituents because the dictator has stigmatized restrictions.

That's a baseless argument. The vast majority of healthcare professionals are in agreement that masks do offer some level of mitigation. Let's drop the junk science in an attempt to justify selfishness. Either wear the mask or simply admit that your minor inconvenience is more important than others' protection.

I can't believe people are politicizing whether or not it is beneficial to yourself or others to wear a mask when there is a pandemic involving an airborne virus. Not everything needs to be run by a reality star turned politician for approval, sometimes common sense should be sufficient.

Yup. Science, math, logic, and reason no longer have any significance for what seems to be about 1/3 of the population. I suppose they also still believe the Earth is flat and it's the center of the universe?

I guess you are in the camp where anyone can have their own facts.

U.S. traffic deaths average 90 per day (from NHTSA).

Covid deaths average more than 1400 over the past month. Without something dramatic happening, it will be a long time before this drops below 90/day.

Yes, it's pretty incredible.

Some of these folks are real proud of having decades of emergency food, thousands of dollars in guns / ammo, for a probability of danger that is 0.00000001% likely to happen, but refuse to wear a mask to prevent a scenario that is most likely greater than 10-40% of happening to them or their family.

The fact that the President mocks masks as being weak, but then has secret service wearing bullet proof armor with machine guns protecting him and his family, who is really weak? Let's see the President go out in public with no mask, no secret service, shake hands with everyone, with no protection. Then we'll see how strong or weak he is.

And don't forget, they believe 5G causes coronavirus... in the age of science of information, it seems disinformation and ignorance is gaining more traction than ever.

Looks like Covid cases basically skipped 500's and 600's and increased to 702 today. The largest previous increase were mostly in the 400's with one day at 501. Today it increased over 200+ cases.

Hopefully this is not a trend and we will see numbers moderate. But given how many people are going out without masks and pretending things are back to normal, I'm doubtful.
