The people who attended were clearly there for a red-meat tossing tirade about how the evil Socialist President Obama and the handmaidens of Satan – aka The Democratic Party – were destroying America. What they got instead was a long-form Christian revival meeting combined with a military recruiting show. The message was pretty clear and nothing new – “If America doesn’t turn toward God we’re all doomed!” combined with speaker after speaker pretty much fetishizing the military.

Did The Beck Rally Change America And Do A Miracle? Ummm….No « Alan Colmes' Liberaland

If we judged the authenticity and value of the person that is center stage by the gawkers and crowds that they draw, then Britney Spears should run for office. Beck is a fraud.
Oh please, Beck is no more a Fraud, then any one else, In this day and age, we can call any one a fraud, for what they are selling. America is waking up, Not just because of Beck, but because of common sense, and one look around, we can see what is happening, does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what is happening here, before it is too late, everyone better wake up. If i judge the authenticity and the value of obama, i don't like what i am hearing!

I heard there were eleventy billion people there.

I've heard counts from 50,000 all the way to the seven figures. I would have gone, but I heard there would be no hard liquor. Plus, I'm not a crazy person.

Oh, the elite are leftists.

Okay, what does that make the right?
The left class themselves 'above' anyone they consider 'less'. It's become a self proclaimed mantra among the elite leftists.

The right? We wear what left throws at us because it's easy for them to throw apparently.

The current spew is just an example. No matter what ideals we profess to or hold on to, we are still pelted with labels the left throws out because that's all the left has - hatred, racism, and the 'I'm better than you mindset' because I have an 'open' mind. Seems very contrary to what they profess to believe in.

And when the mind is open - any and everything gets in.

It's better to have a guarded mind.

I guess I just don't get the big deal about the newspaper coverage or the rally itself. It was just another of the massively overhyped teabagger gatherings that have been happening for months. In fact, I think that many of the same speakers and attendees just did the same thing a few months ago in Searchlight, NV. The whole thing had a morning zoo DJ stunt feel to it. The rally reminded me of one of the scenes near the end of Howard Stern's movie Private Parts when he gathers a large group of his fans in New York to celebrate his ratings.

If you are a teabagger, then it was probably a very big deal. It is not every day that the teabag King and Queen share the same stage.

Not as bad as I was expecting. Stupid ones for sure. Majority were middle-road kind of rallies. Too bad they never once mentioned the cause they were collecting for in the headline, it might have gotten just a few more donations.

Why would anyone expect the major media outlets to over-report a competing network's event? It was organized by Fox, paid for by Fox and executed by Fox, with Fox entertainment personalities as focal points. As Fox has stated, they are in the entertainment business rather than the news reporting business. Just because the competing media, IE: newspapers and other TV networks didn't treat it as the second coming of Christ as Beck would have liked doesn't equate to biased reporting.

The MLK speach on the same day years ago was just a "rally" too. Why is it still remembered?

Someone good with Photoshop could have a field day with that image if so inclined.
