Contrary the OPs observation Civil war was not a separation of Republican Democrat support of slavery. It was north vs south on economic issues that highly factored slavery into the debate. In fact the only reason that Lincoln ran under the republican ticket was because of the collapse of the Whig Party that he was a member of during his Senate years. The Whigs collapsed in 1856 mostly due to their difference of opinion on the Kansas Nebraska Act some becoming Democrats others becoming Republicans but all members siding with their geographical regions, not the party.
To say that Democrats supported slavery and Republicans did not is inaccurate history. BTW you can't change history. It's written in time.
Yes, very actively before and during the Civil War. After the war of course there was no slavery to support, but the Dixiecrats were solidly against equal rights for former slaves.

Times change... The republicans in the past decades have been against many civil rights legislation/enforcement and consistently supports race-baiting...

Civil rights based on race alone, is not equal rights.
There is nothing equal about it. It is all about forced mind control, which only brings on resentment.
It seems so fruitless when people spend so much time LOOKING for ways to be offended.
Contrary to what you think, it didn't take me much time at all. I read that post, and commented on it. It actually went quite fast. Hell...how am i wrong? Did i misread those comments?
Democrats still support slavery, only now it isn't limited to Africans: Anyone who earns a paycheck will do.
This is actually funny. LMAO!
