It all happened when Martin Luther King, a staunch Republican was sitting in jail and face hard time, until JFK stepped in and cut a deal.

Thing is, JFK refused to sign the civil rights bill, twice.
Once in 1957 as a Senator and the other when he was President.
Coincidentally, LBJ was very sympathetic to the minority, even he called (insert the N word here, to be politically correct)

It has to do with catering to a voting block to use, to keep them in power. They do actually do what the people that vote them in, want them to do. Look at Pelosi, Rangel, Frank & Waters.

Yes, very actively before and during the Civil War. After the war of course there was no slavery to support, but the Dixiecrats were solidly against equal rights for former slaves.
Why don't Republicans like minorities? Have you seen a tea party rally?

The party was split. Northern Liberal Democrats were in favor of the Civil Rights Act, Southern Conservative Democrats were the ones who fought against it. The GOP then campaigned specifically for those southern conservative Democrats who were upset over LBJ signing the Civil Rights Act.

Newsflash: The whole country embraced racism, segregation and slavery for an equal period of time. Newsflash: Most of the founding fathers - including the founder of American Republicanism, Thomas Jefferson - owned slaves. Newsflash: You have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

The democratic party of yesterday is essentially the republican party of today and vice versa. This had a lot to do with the failure of reconstruction and the backlash they got from white southerners and former slaves who were basically being re-enslaved when the Republicans left them to rot. This marked the beginning of transition for the two parties. The democrats eventually realized that many blacks still harbored a grudge against the Republican party for deserting them and they capitalized on the previously unused voting base. These roles may or may not switch again in the future... at this point they're basically the same thing. Both parties answer to Mr. and Mrs. Big Business.

Saw several Black Americans speaking at the tea party rallies and in attendance. Where there a lot, no, but enough to notice we are in this together.
Americans of all colors, are figuring it out how they are being used by the Progressive Democratic Party.
It is starting to click, even as much as the Democrat "strong hold" inner-cities, try to keep the Black American Youth uneducated and ignorant.
Maturity opens eyes and frees up brain space.

Because blacks are the only ones in inner cities... get a clue already. About 25% of blacks are in poverty right now... 25%. That would suggest the existence of another 75% who are firmly working class - upper class. Or were you only speaking for the blacks at the rally you attended? Do you know any of them personally?

I know history as well. I realize that the Democratic Party of that era and the Democratic Party of today are two totally different things, same for the Republican Party. I also realize that the Democratic Party of that era were strongly split by region. You had the northern liberals and the southern conservatives.
