Not if you know someone in the government. Some animals are more equal than others.

The reason that Doctors and Insurance companies can ask "criminal" amounts for their services is because everyday Americans do NOT have other viable options, as in every other industrialised Country. The two choices that millions of Americans have here are.......
(1) Pay excessively high premiums or Doctors fees.
(2) Have NO health care. ( millions in the USA have choice 2 )
This notion that people here have a choice is insane.

1. No it doesn't, if they accepted the Medicare funded education. Sort of like if the military pays your education, you owe them a certain amount of time.

2. Not sure about the exact laws, but it is virtually impossible to practice medicine w/o doing a residency.

3. Who would fund medical residencies if not Medicare? Any suggestions?

Agree to disagree. There is a local doctor in Apex, NC who does not take insurance and charges very reasonable rates. He is not beholden to any insurance bureaucracy or government mandate.

Same entities who did it before Medicare existed?

ONE physician, out of all those in the US! That sure proves the point!

There are a handful of others, however, I can't imagine how they do surgery or any other procedures w/o their patients having the funds (e.g. insurance) to pay for it.

We have allowed physicians to become an elitist class. Until that changes, the cost of healthcare is only gonna rise and consistent healthcare is gonna still be unavailable to a portion of society b/c of lack of access.

I do not know a single person who was denied medical care. That's another liberal lie.

When did the American people get the idea that medical care should be free? No other business in America is expected to provide services for free.

There are plenty of places to go for "free" (to you) medical care.

You cannot expect to receive the same level of service as a recipient class member as someone who is of the provider class.

Be specific. Medical education has changed greatly in the last almost 50 years.
