So you have to resort to personal attacks. Typical. If you can't handle the topic or it makes you angry. Maybe you should step away from the computer so that you have time to compose yourself.

Sorry, to burst your bubble, but I was one of the troops. I think we would relate much better. Just my personal observation from troops that have been there. They don't want to be there and they don't want to go back. They are not too happy about "commentators" wanting them to stay.

Couldn't have put it any better.

You are correct, the majority of us are on the right. But you alway's have a few lefties here n there. They tend to keep rather quiet though. Then you have those who really don't care for Politics at all.

Not even close. The book burnings of the 30's were an attempt to keep certain books out of circulation, thus preventing people from reading them (censorship). The soldiers who burned O'Liley's books were just getting rid of the trash.

I often toss old paperbacks that have lost their covers or are otherwise damaged into the wood stove. Does that make me an evil book burner?

the books being burnt in the 30's was to keep certain books that they did not approve of. the same is being said here, people dont approve of sean's books and cant think of anything else to do with it.

This whole argument is silly. This is an outpost in a remote region in Afghanistan. It's not a political statement, it's a logistics issue. They simply can't support having extra material, such as these books, on site. Because one guy took pictures and tried to infer some political statement does not make it so. After looking at the article, even the guy who posted the pictures said it wasn't a political statement. The reality is that any package such as this, regardless of the author, would have met the same end.
