They have testified against this and are hoping it doesn't pass. Do you even live here and if you don't why do you card.
Testifying against and "hoping" hold no clout. I'd say the power is with the House of Reps, the Senate and the Governor. These black pastors have absolutely no say in how this will go down unless somehow this is left up to a popular vote.
BTW, yes I live in MD although I fail to see what difference that makes.
What about the Scriptures that are against adultery, stealing, lying, murder, etc? Do you find these Scriptures to be true representatives of the Bible's original intent?
No I don't because the words have been handed down for many centuries. So who knows what the true content was.

See what I mean? So many conflicting views. And not a bible scholar among us. Rather than cherry-pick the verses I don't like (and thus deem them unreliable), I'll just stick with the Bible as it's written. Otherwise, it all gets very messy.
Oh for gods sake you are either for this or against it, Either way it doesn't matter to me what you think. I was just trying to be nice
My only point was that your post re: black pastors was unnecessarily bringing race into this issue. Glad you see this now. Good night fellow Marylander.

As it is written? In English?
How much do you know about the people who interpreted and translated the version of Bible you read?
You're right, there are many ridiculous religions that use ancient superstitions in an attempt to control people and dictate personal choices.
Calling someone's religious beliefs ridiculous shows a surprising lack of tolerance on your part as well.
