I don't believe you can compare the two. I can't find any evidence of Homosexuals ever being executed in the West by the state, even going back 2 Centuries when the government was more religous. There is up to 4000 executions in Iran alone since 1979.
Prior to 1850 going back to colonial days, every US state and territory at one point considered homosexual sodomy a capital crime. It didn't happen often (lesser punishments were usually handed down), but the US has executed homosexuals for having homosexual sex. The last documented case was Jose Antonio BullBoxer31' execution in California in 1801.
Nothing that does happen in many meetings of different types everyday. Did you watch the videos of the reaction to Rev Wright when he preached about the whitey being the devil? We even see mobs that would lynch people if given half a chance even to this day in many criminal cases.The number that loot and burn at any opportuntiy is a problem also. The number of Chruch burnig every years is very high.
No one watched the videos of Rev. Wright preaching "whitey being the devil", because to have a video the event would first have to happen which it has not.
The problem with these books, the Bible and the Quran specifically, is they speak of good deeds as being the root of salvation in one instance and slaughter and killing in the next.
Good deeds don't get anyone into the kingdom of God.. it is accepting Jesus as savior and also Lord-to follow him and the Holy Spirit and the Word of God will become the teacher and the Holy Spirit will quicken the spirit to love the things of God and sin no more.

If this is the case, then this God of yours seems very petty, insecure, and jealous.
