The bible is a collection of writings by many authors and translated into many different languages. When translating.....words don't always mean the exact same. Plus the story itself is probably embellished. It's like lining up a bunch of kids. Tell the first kid a sentence to repeat to the next kid and by the 10th kid that story has been altered. And it's no fault of theirs. It's just the way each interpreted it and passed it along believing what they heard. So what started out as truth thousands of years ago may not really be the word of god as we believe now.
Going to catholics schools all my like, we were taught by the nuns and priests that we were all gods children. We were taught that even if we stray god would always love us because he was not judgmental. But they also taught us that we would face him when we die and be given our punishment if he was disappointed in us....much like a parent reprimanding a child.

We were never taught hate or intolerance because someone was different. The nuns and priests taught us to love and embrace everyone because we are all brothers and sisters. If god wants to judge us then that is his right but we have no right to judge one another because not one of us is superior to another. We are all equals. It's man who has put restrictions on us not god.
I have a feeling those that are so intolerant and don't embrace their brothers and sisters are the ones who will be judged most harshly by god.

Sorry but this is what I was taught and it's a damn good lesson.

Well, they are expected and obliged to propagate a new generation of bible thumping, judgemental, bigoted haters. I wonder if it was the minister or the parents that explained to the mini homophobes in training what "homos" actually are.

Pastor has issued a response.

Quote:
The Pastor and members of Apostolic Truth Tabernacle do not condone, teach, or practice hate of any person for any reason. We believe and hope that every person can find true Bible salvation and the mercy and grace of God in their lives.
We are a strong advocate of the family unit according to the teachings and precepts found in the Holy Bible. We believe the Holy Bible is the Divinely-inspired Word of God and we will continue to uphold and preach that which is found in scripture.

Death threats and violent rhetoric aimed at the Pastor, the church and it's congregation are as abhorrent and wrong as teaching that little child that song.

It seems that intolerance and bigotry are not exclusively the domain of Christianity, huh?

Who do you believe is operating within the domain of Christianity?
