That's because you southpaws are the devil's spawn.

At least that's what a Catholic nun who taught my older brother used to tell him while she tied his left hand behind his back or made him stand in the dunces corner.

Just because they're not "brave enough to show themselves" where you live, that doesn't mean they don't exist... around here it's probably way more than 4%, and they don't need to hide themselves. Boy do I love living in a place where everyone is accepted, and people don't have to be afraid of being themselves.

P.S. Do these numbers include bisexuals, or just homosexuals? That could make a BIG difference.

They have tons of left-handed items, as I know from the fact that half of my family is left-handed... and if they don't, maybe that's a good niche market for you to take advantage of? No idea how you'd make a left-handed baseball bat (my southpaw baseball-playing brother does just fine with the standard bat), but it's all about marketing!

Doesn't really matter anyway, since the majority has NEVER ruled in a civilized society. I'm a Jewish American and a natural redhead, both of which are around 1-2% of the population - so combined, it's probably like 0.005%. Do I not deserve equal rights, just because I represent such a small percentage of Americans?

My left-handed grandfather was told the same, and hit on the knuckles with a ruler whenever he'd write with the left hand. He eventually learned to do okay with the right hand, but never lost his left-handed dominance (and later went back to using that hand). Gee, why does the phrase "history repeats itself" come to mind?

You'd be more apt to see a les on a Harley than a gay man in the first place. Even the lesbians would kick their asses! lol lol "You lookin' at my woman?" Hahahaha
So, holding hands and going to bars qualifies as "flaunting it?" Wow - I guess heterosexuals are MUCH more guilty of flaunting their sexuality! Thanks for making our points hold more water.

Btw, how do you know who's gay or not (when you encounter them in public), especially if they don't "flaunt it?" Do you go around asking everyone, or just assume they're straight if they don't fit your stereotypes of gay people? I'd bet there are more than you realize, they might even be living next-door to you... oh noes, you might catch the gay if you're not careful!!

Sorry I don't buy this. I fall in the belief that it is about 10%. Make life difficult and you can get this number down to 0 (which is what the right wing Christians who do not understand true liberty and freedom want). Iran for instance has stated that they have no gays.

But I have a bigger question on this topic. Lately I have been seeing some rightwing conservatives on this site in the "politics and other controversies" continue to bring up poor statistics on the gay community on threads they start. Why do some of you have the fascination with these people that you do? Could it be you have some homosexual tendencies of your own....and just can't help it? Are you sitting at your bed at night praying for the big giant space daddy to get these evil thoughts out of your heads?

As long as there is 00000000000000000000000.00000000001% of the population of the United States of America that is being discriminated against, I will personally be active to make sure that they have the same civil rights as the rest of the population.
The Neanderthals can kiss my azz.
Everyone is afforded the same rights.
Justice for me, and not for thee?
Really?

Right on! Liberty and freedom for everyone (except those who's property is deemed historic by bureaucratic governments and community activists who do not actually pay for the property in question).

You can spin it however you want, but there is, always was, and always will be one reason only for people to advocate systematic suppression of gay people: narrow-minded prejudice. That's all it ever comes down to.
