You missed the point.

In your post you stated that "we" were making excuses for these women. Obviously you have not read this thread and are simply making (ass)umptions based on the fact that we happen to be Black women.

It is quite obvious that your participation in this thread is not benevolent by any means. And I truly wish that someone would fix the "border" between C-D and stormfront because they are continually crawling over (or under) it and finding their way into each and every thread regarding Black people.

Which is why some were questioning why the op started this thread here in the first place.

MaryMary2012 says::
"There appears to be lobby groups set up for almost every political, religious and/or social group, but I haven't been able to identify one single group that lobby's on behalf of the vitality and upward mobility of black American women."

Mary, Mary, quite the contrary; The wife of Attorney General Eric Holder and the new Attorney General Lois Lerner formed a sorority for black woman law students at Harvard Law School. Surely such a high visibility and prestigious organization must have promoted the "upward mobility" of their fellow citizens. Maybe the fact that the sorority had just two members limited their opportunity to lobby back then, but they sure have the opportunity now.

Most of them are single mothers. And their mothers were single mothers. Blacks do mobilize against themselves but they haven't thought of this one yet.

To be quit honest, the black community in general has a very loose outlook on sexual morals. As a student at a HBCU college, Black girls in my dorm have already been hooking up with new guys and its only been 3 days. The term baby momma and baby daddy is used way too loosely, so much so that its common to ask someone at 18-24, do you have any kids? It has to come within themselves to understand this but I am afraid that we are far from this reality.

It's easy to get a big group of black people to march in the streets to honor a thug or criminal, but when it comes to real issues like single motherhood in the black community, well, that doesn't get people upset enough.
(even though IMHO, it's the single biggest problem for black America).

Very true, but you also said...

I simply do not understand why there hasn't been a political platform set up to address the pervasive issue of single motherhood amongst black women.
You are looking for a government solution.
