That's the point. Should it be a 75/25% state split or 100% by the Feds.

The Feds don't pay 100% for a TX / FL Hurricane or when the Mississippi floods. The state needs a stake in the game.

Conservative Christians are "far more" a lot of things than lefties, but charitable ain't one of them.

And if i put 100 bucks in your pocket, i'm taking 101 bucks out of your other pocket.

I will agree with that.. last year at this time some of my on line motorcycle buddies (all conserv) found out i got into a little trouble. While i never asked for a cent, suddenly checks started to arrive and none were less than that $100.

I had to go ballistic before they would stop and about 9 checks came! each one had a note as to the 'why' behind it, which was mainly I saved these guys a lot more money than they sent, but never the less I will go with out before i become a beggar.

Not one lefty sent a stamp.......... There are a few lefties on the site too.

None of these guys will accept pay back either which is still a current problem for me.

The only way it can work for me is before i have done the same thing, and ever took up the on line collection where I had to conquer trust to get gifts to send to the family in need. No one at that time had ever met me face to face and i did come up with about a grand to send.

Hell no. Would you give your brother a kidney? Screw that leech. It is totally un-American to help Americans. Especially the ones that pay the most taxes.

NY loves to brag about their great economy and independence. Pass a flood tax to pay your 25%.
Considering NY state pays more $ to the federal govt then it receives, I would say they have the right to brag about their economy.

I'd be happy to give a Kidney, just not both kidneys.

Local areas aren't asked to absorb the full costs of clean-up, they are asked to contribute to the costs of clean-up. The federal government typically pays 75% of the clean-up per the article. Local and state contribute 25%. It concerns me that when local and state authorities are making decisions over the clean-up, that if the costs aren't coming out of their coffers to some degree, that one of the incentives for keeping those costs down is gone.

So NY should have the $$ to contribute to it's fair share towards rebuilding of damaged infrastructure. Knowing how NYC spends money, I'm not open to giving them a blank check.

funny how you wrote "Conservative christians" as if there are no "Liberal Christians", hate to break this to you, but many of my friends who are doctors and nurses see more white folks having abortions and lets say a good half of them are "Christians", that is still more than any groups combined who are having these abortions. You do not have any facts to back up your claim.

Abortion Statistics

Quote:
Who's having abortions (religion)?
Women identifying themselves as Protestants obtain 37.4% of all abortions in the U.S.; Catholic women account for 31.3%, Jewish women account for 1.3%, and women with no religious affiliation obtain 23.7% of all abortions. 18% of all abortions are performed on women who identify themselves as "Born-again/Evangelical".

As a liberal and a Democrat who believes in shared burdens and recognizes that New York is one of those states that contributes more to the federal revenues than they receive in return I am stunned by this request. 100 percent reimbursement for "economic" loses? I'm sorry but such a request is simply out of line with both precedent and fiscal reality and leaves me speechless especially Cuomo's demand that local governments in New York state stop demanding more assistance from the state's government.

Stunning and very disappointing.
