Those who wish to have the benefits of legal marriage who are not gay get none. I knew this woman who lived with her mother for years...She would complain - If I were having sex with my own mother I could arrange a same sex marriage with her and have the rights and benefits of marriage. Socialist have it if you are going to say arrange for welfare benefits ...If you have sexual contact with a person you can apply as a "couple" _ If you are not having sexual contact with a person you are NOT allowed to apply with as a couple and will not receive extra benefits. It seems you have to be rubbing your genitals together to be respected by socialists.

A brother and a sister should now be able to marry - a father and a son...and so on...If gays can gain the benefits of marriage and they are not even of the opposite sex...Then EVERYONE should have the benefits of marriage......Just looking at my old beagle dog..she loves me and depends on me...I believe that Rover and I should have the right to be in a legal union....WHY NOT- I and my dog demand equality!

How is this ANY different from a guy and a girl doing the exact same thing (although you say parents - is it legal to marry your sibling? - TOTALLY different issue)?? People seem to be really confused here at gay marriage. It's two people in love getting married.

If you want to take advantage of that to scam the system that's your business. It's been done with straight marriage for generations. Why does anyone think this is new?

Why is everyone talking about getting same-sex married to scam the system of marriage? Straight people on this sute are a bunch of damn frauds!! Good god. Everyone I know who's gay and wants to marry their partner wants to do it out of love. Do none of you believe in love??

Keeping everything purely contractual would benefit everyone. Keep government out of determining the meaning of the word 'Marriage' would be fair to everyone.

it you want true equality then you surely must have it for all, otherwise just a lie
Equal access, not equal outcome.

You have equal access to marriage. It is not the governments job to find a partner for you.

Judging by your other posts, you seem to be a reasonable progressive guy. Why.would u ask such a question?
Straight ppl have been in sham marriages for years for immigration purposes, inheritance, etc. I have also known gay men who marry straight women. How would your question be any different? I'd imagine it'd be legal if performed in a legal state and residing in a legal state.

Two wrongs dont make a right. The social welfare programs in this country were put in place to protect families, mothers and children. Fraud marriages are an afront to the taxpayer regardless of orientation

Millions of heteros have gotten married for all kinds of reasons besides love or procreation for millennia. Until the 20th century, marriage was intended as a way to keep your money, get another family's money, or seal political alliances.

Nothing whatsoever makes your silly scenario any different.

Where have I mentioned religion? You obviously have me confused with someone else as you want a religious argument and will need to seek out and engage those so inclined. Your side continually fails to comprehend that religious belief is not necessary or even required to regard marriage as only consisting of a man and a woman.

Husband and husband? LOL. You clearly are not the same or equivalent to husband and wife, an approximation at best perhaps, but you will never be the same exact thing because you are different. Normal opposite sex man woman marriage does not have a same sex component composition and as such will NEVER be the same thing as homosexualized so-called “marriage”.
