I live about 10 miles from where Jesse Helms died in 2008.

He is on my Mount Rushmore of Term Limits/Age Limits, without a doubt.

Bill Clinton's political mentor was a segregationist who opposed civil rights.

J. William Fulbright

The Democrats are the party of slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, the KKK, opposition to civil rights, and the party for govt. sanctioned racism today (affirmative action), so you'd figure most of their political idols are racists.

The yet the overwhelming majority of African-Americans, Jews, Asian-Americans, Hispanics and LGBT Americans support the Democrats.

I love how crazed and committed leftists are soooooo worried about the Republican party. I'd take care of my own house if I were you because it's rapidly crumbling to the ground.

Yet every minority major office holder in the southern USA is a Republican....

The Democrats race baiting and racial politics will bite them in the end. The statistics prove minorities are much better off under Republican leadership, which makes a lot of since sense the Democrats are the party of slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, the KKK, opposition to civil rights, and the party for govt. sanctioned racism today (affirmative action).

As the OP, please allow me to clarify. IMO the Republican Party expired due to a hijacking incident pulled off by the radical right wing crazies that crawled out from under rocks to seize an opportunity. There is no legit Republican Party anymore so far be it from me to be the least bit concerned about what happens to these radicals that have taken over. I did say that we need 100 more Ted Cruz types to get them voted out on account of their rigid and radical views that is totally in opposition to the changing demographics of the nation. Ted Cruz types would guarantee the demise and good riddance to them.

2010 Mid terms, started the Progressive exit from the Republican party. 2012 those were held accountable and more progressives were weened from the party.

It may get to the point, we actually have 2 different partys. Instead of Progressive dark and Progressive lite, shoved down our throats, only to pick the lesser of two evils.

Last time I checked the GOP controls the US House of Representatives and a majority of the US States. That is far from a party that has expired. With that clownshow in the White House, I expect the GOP to take back the Senate next election.

The Democrat Party is in worse shape. The "blue model" is failing vs. the "red model." The Democrats, who are behind the failing "blue model" need to change their ways or will die as a viable party. Do you honestly believe the Democrats will admit their policy is a failure and change course? LOL, me neither.

But they are at war with each other....conservatives versus moderate republicans. I agree with smaller government but get out of my personal life which conservatives want to control with women.
