LOL

No wonder Putin throws him around like a rag doll! First it was Syria, then it was Snowden, and now it's Ukraine!

What a farce this President is!

Putin Might Face G-8 Boycott as Obama Warns on Ukraine - Bloomberg
What should he have done before now?

What should he do now?

What do you think one of his challengers, McCain or Romney, would have done differently?

I wonder where Snowden stand is all of this? I've already heard its part of a greater trade deal, we get to bomb Syria and Russia gets to take back the Ukraine.
Russia getting the Ukraine for giving up Snowden would be an incredible deal... for them. Or maybe Putin will agree to back off and we'll give away missile defenses.
The huge loser in all of this is Obama because he's not going to win anybody over in any event and will only lose support from the few left who have a neutral opinion of him.
I've heard Putin's a space alien - would tread lightly with this guy.

OK, so what if he did? What would have the US do about it?

It's a bad situation. When Russia invaded Georgia a few years ago, it was a warning to all the former soviet union states: The United States does not have either the will or the ability to protect you.

This current war is because Ukraine is looking towards the west rather than Russia. This is not what Vladimir Putin wants. He has the political capital to invade and there will be no consequences to it. He will be placated and will effectively win this engagement.

That will, of course, show the world that the US is no longer in charge. The interesting thing that will need to be watched is: What will China do with that knowledge? The Japan issue, Taiwan... China wants to resolve both those issues. This might be the confidence bolster they need.

Do share with us your expertise. Should Obama invade Russia? Is that what you are promoting?

Other than the vague threat of UN sanctions . . what leverage do we have?

You don't like Obama; we get that. Now tell us how to stop another country from 'protecting their interests'. Because Russia sure in hell ain't the only country to ever do it. So . .

OH, I forgot to end my post the way the OP started it: LOL LOL LOL.

We've been waiting all day for one of these chickenhawks to tell us what they'd do. They offer no solutions, only blame.

You cons are long on laughing and finger-pointing but very short on actual ideas for dealing with the crisis.
We should do absolutely NOTHING. As unfortunate as the situation is, this is not our crisis.

And despite the mocking tone adopted by those who think that boycotting the G8 meeting and freezing Russian assets are pathetically weak attempts to force their hero Putin to rethink his violation of Ukrainian sovereignty: The G8 summit (in Sochi) is yet another one of Putin's vanity projects, just like the Olympics -- during which he was all over Russian TV, all day, every day. Putin is desperate to portray Russia as a civilized country with a seat at the grown-ups' table, but invading your neighbor on the flimsiest of pretexts is not exactly the best way to do that.

And the Magnitsky List produced howls of outrage among the Russian oligarchs who form Putin's main base of support. If the US and Europe were to give Russia the full Iran treatment, Putin's corrupt cronies would be shrieking for relief faster than Sarah Palin rushed to say "I told ya so, you betcha!".

In fact, just the threat of an asset freeze could be enough to cause a stampede of wealth out of the country, causing the ruble to collapse and crashing the Russian economy (again). Something to think about for those of you who admire Putin for being a master chess player.
