Most minimum wage jobs are not full time, but part time often a few hours a week. So a lot of people have to juggle multiple jobs with varying shifts.
$150-$160 a week per person is a weak wage.

A raise .. .is between the employer and employee and based on a variety of factors including ability, other people able to job (job market), etc.

Your treatment could be in line with both companies interest in you for a customer, for instance. perhaps you are a poor wal-mart customer (based on their target graphics) and they are actively trying to discourage your presence in the store.

OR - it could be you. Perhaps you are just a real @#@hole and you get service in line to how you treat these workers?

OR the job market is really tough, and they can only hire jerks

not enough information to decide on a raise, but i'm sure wal-mart and hardees knows and will reward these people in due time.

I believe most retail pays similar to Walmart. Mom and Pop places often pay less, and have fewer benefits. Costco is a separate place b/c they have far fewer employees per unit sold.

Why Can
CostCo is also separate because they have membership fees, and if they didn't, they only turn a profit twice in the last 12 years, and in those two years they would have averaged 0.4% profit.

The membership fee gets lost in CostCo discussions. Just figured I'd toss it back in.

Agreed. The membership fee is discussed in the link I posted. They make a lot of money on those fees.

Sorry, didn't read the whole link. My bad.

Yep, if CostCo didn't have a membership fee, things in their business model would be decidedly different or else they'd be going out of business.
