That would be fine if they hadn't been and aren't complicit in the ruination of opportunity - or its denial in the first place - for many minorities within and outside of the inner city.

If you want the republican party to do stuff for the inner city then they are no
better than demacrats. People should want less goverment in thier way. Less
regulations and red tape to start a business in thier town and inner city, less
taxes on that money they make, and less decrimination and preceived
favortism. Your business should succeed because its needed and ran
right not because of who you know and gave you money.
We all know capital to start businesses is all but impossible for many minorities to obtain. Banks discriminate. Venture capitalists discriminate. And don't mention the SBA - I have personally been involved with them enough to know that they are little more than a scam.

So what is it that black people are expecting the Democrats to try to do to transform their ongoing plight, other than just to throw more money at the same government programs that have consistently failed the black community over the last 60 years?

I won't hold my breath waiting for anyone to provide an intelligent answer to this, for obvious reasons.

Part of it is that social justice issues are rated very important to most black voters. On the other hand the GOP tends to take no or a hostile position on a lot of social justice issues. You cannot expect people to vote for you if you oppose them on issues that are important to them its just not going to happen just like you are not going to get social conservatives to back Democrats.

Black voters don't influence very much. Who cares?

What makes you think the only thing Blacks want is for politicians to through money their way?

Mmhm, yes, because government always has everyone's best interests at heart.

Operation Northwoods - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Operation Northwoods was a series of proposals for actions against the Cuban government, that originated within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the United States government in 1962. The proposals, which called for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), or other operatives, to commit acts of terrorism in US cities and elsewhere, were rejected by the Kennedy administration.

Except they're the reason several states in the East have went from Red to Purple/Blue in recent years...Virginia, NC,Ohio, Florida....states like Georgia are also slowly turning purple.

The black vote is actually integral to the Democratic party...if the GOP even captured 30-40% of the black vote, the states that are battlegrounds would be more solidly red and they'd be able to easily win more elections.

As for Latinos, the only reason their votes aren't more influential and powerful is because they're mostly located in states that are solidly red or blue(California, Arizona, Texas, New York, Iilinois).

Same as Asians, mostly on the West Coast which is solidly blue.

That's why the black vote is 2nd only to Whites when it comes to importance.

Well. You could also say that states like Calif, NY and Ill. are so solidly BLUE because the Hispanic bloc is so significant.

But those are far more solidly blue or red than the states I mentioned. Different if California was close to battleground status, but it's not.

You also have to remember that states like California, Arizona, and Texas has a lot of illegal Latino immigrants who can't vote which diminishes their power. Almost all eligible blacks can vote since they were born here. Blacks are 13% of the voting bloc. If I recall, Latinos are 9 or 10% even though they outnumber Blacks in the country.
