The cop was being a complete jackass. He was the one escalating the situation, all over the most minor of traffic "violations" that most probably don't even bother to stop a motorist over. From the start, he's digging into the driver and doing his best to be obnoxious.
The creep deserves to lose his badge, at the very least.
Every traffic stop is a criminal investigation. She was a criminal. That is why she went to jail.
Cool down.
A traffic violation isn't the same thing as a crime. There was no damage, loss or victim involved. There wasn't even any other traffic in the two lanes on their side of the street.
Interesting ... it's also coming out now that apparently Sandra Bland told the staff during intake that she had previously tried to commit suicide.
Her family also denies that she was epileptic. So then why did Bland say she was?
Again, the video that I would be interested in seeing is the one that Bland was probably filming with her iphone. Based on her previous fb videos, I'm sure she carried on quite a conversation w/ herself in the car.
“Regardless of the situation, the DPS state trooper has an obligation to exhibit professionalism and be courteous,” said DPS Director Steve McCraw. “That did not happen in this situation."
When asked by reporters if Sandra Bland caused her own death, West said “no.” He also added that she didn’t deserve to be arrested in the first place."
Wrong is wrong and it's ok to acknowledge that men in power can lie and do wrong.

Reason: PERSONAL
She can smoke in her car. He asked her to put it out. He has no right to arrest her because she refused.
When there's a stop, and the suspect hasn't yet been given the approval to be on her way, putting away the cig (and the cell phone) were reasonable demands; both are distractions, something burning in her hand at 750° F, never mind all the smoke.
It's already been explained to you that when there's a stop, and the suspect hasn't yet been given the approval to be on her way, putting away the cig (and the cell phone) were reasonable demands; both are distractions, something burning in her hand at 750° F, never mind all the smoke.
You can state your opinion all day and its not going to change anything.
One does not have to follow an order that a police officer has not been instructed to give.
A good example is the courts saying an officer can not stop someone from filming them if they are in public despite so many trying to demand that people do just that.
