The United States, the worlds most sophisticated and well equipped military in the entire world that has rotated over 1.5 million soldiers through Iraq in the past 5 years barely has "substantial" control over the green zone, let alone the rest of Iraq. Yet a couple of insurgents claiming to be Al Qaeda have managed to "substantially control" the entire Anbar province? Please, someone wipe the tears of laughter from my face as these assertions totally stretch the realm of possibility.

Oh brother...
That silly Marine friend who was stationed there what would he know...

Compared to posters sitting here.

By the way, he was S2 for his Division that was stationed in Camp Fallujah,he might actually know something about what was going on...even if he IS a Marine.

Defeating WHAT enemy? Oh, you mean Saddam, the one we propped up and helped get into office and sold billions of dollars of weapons to - THAT enemy. With 'friends' like us, who needs enemies? They are one and the same I guess, like the WWF.

CONSIDER THE SOURCE... Iraqi officials and "others familiar with the flow of cash"...well, then I'll just swallow whatever those mysterious folks have to offer, no problem! That MUST be true.

Saudi government officials deny that any money from their country is being sent to Iraqis fighting the government and the U.S.-led coalition.

Saudi Arabia is probably a bigger threat than either Iraq or Iran as they're the worst kind of enemy, the one that pretends to be your friend and denies everything else.

Oh, you are so sure it is a lie, aren't you? Well, take the time to READ a little.

Reagan, with George Bush VP, guaranteed Iraq's supply of arms during its war with Iran. According to published reports, the Reagan-Bush administration "gave the green light to Western Europe to directly sell arms to Iraq" and U.S. arms "were trans-shipped to Iraq through third countries." Moreover, during the first 18 months of George Bush's presidency, Congress repeatedly pressed for the imposition of severe economic sanctions against Iraq, but then President Bush "aggressively resisted them until the day of the Kuwait invasion (2 August 1990)."

Here is a list of US and Eurpean corporations that supplied Iraq with nuclear, chemical, biological, and missile technology, prior to 1991. The list comes, it seems, from the original Iraqi report to the United Nations Security Council.

US corporations involved:
(A – nuclear, K – chemical, B – biological, R – rockets/missiles)

1) Honeywell (R,K)

2) Spektra Physics (K)

3) Semetex (R)

4) TI Coating (A,K)

5) UNISYS (A,K)

6) Sperry Corp. (R,K)

7) Tektronix (R,A)

8) Rockwell (K)

9) Leybold Vacuum Systems (A)

10) Finnigan-MAT-US (A)

11) Hewlett Packard (A.R,K)

12) Dupont (A)

13) Eastman Kodak (R)

14) American Type Culture Collection (B)

15) Alcolac International (C)

16) Consarc (A)

17) Carl Zeis -U.Ss (K)

18) Cerberus (LTD) (A)

19) Electronic Assiciates (R)

20) International Computer Systems

21) Bechtel (K)

22) EZ Logic Data Systems,Inc. (R)

23) Canberra Industries Inc. (A)

24) Axel Electronics Inc. (A)

In addition, the US deparments of defense, energy, trade, and agriculture, and US nuclear weapons laboratories at Lawrence Livermore. Los Alamos, and Sandia, are designated as suppliers for the Iraqi arms programs.

Hmmm, if Georgeet's list is accurate, it looks like Iraq might just have had WMD's after all, or at least the technology to create them. Now just what were we warmongers worried about?
