Higher deductibles was a surprise to many. That was not part of the big town hall campaigns.
They only focused on the lower premiums which were subsidized.

My grandfathered high deductible has a lower deductible than Obamacare policies.

Maybe some of them, but Obamacare NEVER had a majority of this country supporting it.

No....most wanted to be left alone. Never mind that even if they did, they got higher premiums and higher deductibles.

Anti-trust legislation may halt something like that. There are and have been non-profit insurance companies that out performed for-profits. Years ago those businesses were taken to court and forced to compete, set prices in line with for-profits. BCBS was one of those companies.

My daughter had a wonderful policy before Obamacare Sux did away with her wonderful policy and forced an unaffordable policy on her and her husband which effectively makes them avoid health care they've had all of their lives prior to Obamacare Sux. Her husband almost died due to refusal to go to the hospital to avoid the $6700 deductible...Obamacare Sux has been devastatingly horrible to everyone in my family.

Her family of four pays premiums of $1,200 a month for coverage with an annual deductible of $12,700.
Holy... That is horrible. So much for saving for retirement. That's a mortgage payment!

Yes indeed.
these days my wife and I go to the doctor only when we have no choice and it better be very serious.

Sad part is we were never ones to run to the doctor and every sniffle or flu.

This is exactly what the healthcare law was designed to do : provide affordable catastrophic coverage.

If you want a plan that covers your routine healthcare costs, you have to pay for it.

Millions of people today have "junk" policies that are blessed by Obama. You pay thousands of dollars per year in premiums and never get a dime back unless you have a catastrophy. That's exactly the same as the old "junk" policies.
"Catastrophic" plans are not the same as "Junk" plans.

"Junk" plans are the ones that wouldn't even cover your catastrophes.
