This is what conservatives actually believe. You had a system where woman with breast cancer would be denied coverage for her double mastectomy one day before the procedure because her insurance managed to locate an undisclosed visit to a dermatologist for acne. (Not making this up.)

Because of the ACA, our family doctor was forced to quit his private practice and join a hospital group.

I hope that whatever replacement the GOP comes up with will rely on private insurance and things like being able to buy across state lines.

The ACA was all about getting control of peoples live via health care. Once you have control of their health care you can control behavior. That was the goal of the "progressive" movement which birthed the ACA.

"Getting control of peoples live via health care"--hoho! Not only is this ridiculous English grammar, it's also extreme paranoia. Go join the ranchers in Oregon--they might have some snacks to feast on by now.

I don't know if its number 56, but there had been over 30 last year this time, so its close enough.
I'm not even going to read all the replies and this will be my only one here.

You are right......the GOP passes and pays for everything in their spending bill that they promised to do everything in their control to stop. It furthered pissed off their base and Trump surged. They then pass this worthless bill and say "look at what we did".

It's amazing how so many can be so out of touch.

Not true, we believe it was the best we could get past the Democrats.
It suffered major lawsuits from lawyers who paid Democrats to allow these lawsuits, so then my now retired doctor had to pay $200,000.00 a year for liability insurance before he paid his office costs and staff.
That is why things cost so much.

No across state line competition.

All the single payer ones around the world are the worst. They have citizens paying massively through 400% value added taxes to all services and goods. I've gone to many of these other countries and have seen this.
There is also an all cash black market in the single payer socialism system which is economicly strangling these people.

The Democrat wet dream of other people paying for everyone else's life has not worked anywhere.

Throughout Europe you get 100 year or longer multigeneraional mortgages.
Weather kills thousands each year through socialist Europe because they decided to charge a year's salary to buy a heater or air conditioner.
My $60 shoes cost $350 in Europe.
People are in many cases skinny because they can not afford to eat much.

Not what we need here thank you.

Actually, we ranked 36th. But Obamacare has not fixed that.

I've lived in two countries with well-working UHC. Has it ever occurred to you to wonder why no one - absolutely no one - in any other country holds up the US model as one to emulate?

You have the highest administrative overhead and the highest overall cost. You're being had. To the point where those taking you in have you singing their praises.

(A year's salary to buy an air conditioner? Dude, dial it back. Convincing agitprop should be at about 8-10 on the scale where you're hitting several hundred.)

What millions? All Obamacare did was force those with existing insurance onto more expensive plans, and add 12.6 million people to Medicaid, paid for not by them but by guess who? All those middle class Americans who are paying through the nose for Obamacare they can't afford to use and who also pay federal income tax on top of that.
Quote:
"The RAND study estimates 11.2 million Americans are insured through new state and federal marketplaces created under the Affordable Care Act, including 4.1 million who are newly covered and 7.1 million people who transitioned to marketplace plans from another source of coverage.

In addition, among the 12.6 million Americans newly enrolled in Medicaid, 6.5 million were previously uninsured and 6.1 million were previously insured."
Health Coverage Grows Under Affordable Care Act | RAND

So, what Obamacare did was newly insure only 4.1 million people on plans for which they pay (with many of them getting subsidies), while removing 6.1 million from paid insurance plans and placing them on Medicaid (for which they don't pay). It's a net LOSS of those paying into the system to spread the expense and make insurance more affordable for all. That's why those who have it are complaining they can't afford to use it. Read the CNN and NY Times links I posted.

That's kind of on your doctor for not being prepared for the changes. I highly doubt that this is a normal case, as my family doctor and probably thousands are still in business. None of my family members practicing medicine have complained either.

No across state line competition.

Why would there be across state line competition? Should I have to drive from Michigan to lets say for example, Nevada, for my medicines?

I'm going to need to see a source for 400% value tax

Not that this statement makes any sense, but there always have been black markets for medicine, mainly due to the fact that healthcare in the United States is extremely expensive.

The Democrat wet dream of other people paying for everyone else's life has not worked anywhere.

I'm sorry, what?

Throughout Europe you get 100 year or longer multigeneraional mortgages.

No, this was to spur their housing market in the mid 90's as the RE market in Japan was all but dead. They are still fairly uncommon.

My $60 shoes cost $350 in Europe.

There are items that are very cheap in Europe that are very expensive in the United States.

People are in many cases skinny because they can not afford to eat much.
Not what we need here thank you.

Large blanket statement here. The United States has the highest obesity rates in the world, is that what we need?
My responses are bolded.

You know, had the GOP spent as much energy working at fixing the the problems that still exist with the health care system, instead of trying to repeal the ACA, we could probably have the best health care system in the world, by now.

That would have been a real step towards "Making America Great Again."
The GOP is fixing the problem, by getting rid of Obamacare. It is not the gop's fault Obama won't sign it.
