And I thought conservatives wanted to decrease dependence on these programs. Repealing the ACA will increase dependence on Medicaid and welfare. At least those who can afford, must pay, what they can afford to, for their own insurance.

You misunderstood. Taking away the ACA will decrease the number of people covered by insurance. These people without insurance will readily qualify for entitlement programs.

Also, there are those who would rather have totally free medical insurance (Medicaid) rather than pay what they can afford for health insurance (ACA).
