Trump's core supporters are slipping and McConnell approval is polling at around 25%.
I was just reading about that yesterday. Very small numbers, like 1 or 2%, but Trump's numbers among his base are ticking ever so slightly downward.
That could be huge though, because Trump already lost the popular vote in 2016. And with much of the country against him now, Trump is going to need his entire base to come out and vote if he wants to win in 2020 (if Trump is still in office then).
So if 1 or 2 % of his base doesn't vote in 2020 that voted in 2016, that will probably be enough where he'd lose the big swing states that he barely won, and will lose the 2016 election.
The problem is that a cornered rat will do ANYTHING.....so as things get worse, Trump is not going to get better (like normal people would respond). He will keep going - because there is plenty left to ruin for other people.

Its amazing what Trump supporters do. Initially, they tried to tell us that Trump had won a "huge" victory.
Than when its pointed out that Trump only won because of 72,000 votes in three states they start talking about the "great wisdom" of the Founding Fathers in setting up the Electoral College.
Than when you remind them that Hillary got 3 million more votes than Trump, the next tactic is to claim that "that is only because of millions of illegal aliens who voted".
A lot can change in two years, but I note that as of today, Trump's approval numbers stink. Politics 538 average of polls gives him a 39% approval rating. Real Clear Politics average gives him 40%. Trump has accomplished the impossible. He is at 42% approval in that embarrassingly conservative and partisan poll, Rasmussen.
The rate things are going, the democrats could nominate almost any candidate and win. Head to head match ups show every candidate who has filed ahead and Joe Biden ahead by double digits.
Trump may succeed in destroying the republican brand for a generation.
