That is besides the point. How, what, or why is irrelevant to the issue. There is NEVER a valid reason to ban someone from doing such.

The Trump playbook. When the focus is on you, say something totally outrageous. The people will chase the shiny object every time.
Yep.

The "shiny objects" are gonna be coming by the ton over the next term as he says one outrageous thing after another.

LMAO...I'm still just shaking the hell outta my head! Maybe my brains will fall out.

I can imagine that when you see those flag waving rednecks getting all worked-up over some little thing, and they wave or wear the flag; burning that flag would be a convenient way to troll them.

But when "Righties" do the same thing, you still blame the "Left." It's not right vs. left, elephant vs. donkey, or conservative vs. liberal. Just stop it.

Trump knows his supporters. They will be easily distracted by every shiny object he trots out during his presidency just the way they were during his candidacy. You have to hand it to him. He knows his uneducated idiot base very, very well. They will be screeching about stupid non-issues like this one, completely oblivious as he dismantles the social safety net, throws millions of people off their healthcare and and gives his one percent pals big tax cuts at the expense of everyone else. They will never see it coming.

That's how a good con man does it, and they don't come any better than P.T. Barnum Trump.
