For those who are currently receiving SS I think they should be grandfathered, but like other things you need to snap the line on a certain age group, say those who are age 50 and up. Would I be mad that I am losing my government money, sure but compared to what I expect to get in returns from my 401k and other investments I will be fine as will my children and their children and so on.

- Allow me to retire earlier since I can manage my money better than the government (see first point)
- Start limiting governmental oversight and rule of my life and future
The immediate impact of eliminating SS would be that people would be taught personal financial responsibility? Just magically? Did you ever figure that maybe some people really aren't capable of effectively managing their money?

Spoken by : 1%er with more retirement money than you.

The great fear in America is that the new bourgeoisie will lose their underpaid exploited Mexican help and their slave produced Chinese goods and that the blue collar poor whites you contemptuously called red neck and white trash will get jobs paying living wages
And that is the fuel of the mueller so called investigation
Russia didn’t elect trump
We did

GOP to kill SS and Medicare after election.

This is what, the 7,483rd prediction by hysterical leftists that Republicans will repeal SS and Medicare "any time now"?

Yeah because that is what the GOP in the house and senate have always really been about when it comes to policy...the blue collar red neck and white trash.

How gullible can you be. Underpaid Mexican help have built basically every house in the northeast in the last 25 years. There are hardly any goods other than slave produced Chinese goods..everyone would lose them.

I'm actually anti-illegal immigration and pro US on trade deals but how foolish do you have to be to think that Trump is actually doing much of anything other than paying lip service on these items?

No, the thought that people can't handle their money well and need a crutch of a program like SS never once occured to me, ever

Still waiting for them to stone women, throw Jews in concentration camps, burn gays alive, etc.

All under the benevolent enforcement of the totalitarian police state.

.
I would not use the term "comply" with respect to the Declaration of Independence, since the Declaration is not law, such as the Constitution, but rather a screed drafted to explain the rationale for separation from Great Britain. And as you obviously have noted, the declaration states that governments derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed". So the government can exercise whatever powers We the People (the glorious collective, in your terms) agree to give it.

But to play along with your semantics, I guess I prefer the PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST REPUBLIC, if that means a government that has ability to provide a social safety net to the vulnerable, to ensure medical care for those who can't afford it and that can regulate business to prevent exploitation of the consumer or destruction of the environment. Since this regime has been in power since 1933, according to you, and in that time the nation has not collapsed but rather achieved remarkable technological advancements and unparalleled standards of living, I would prefer to continue this success story by making appropriate adjustments along the way rather than revert to some kind of Darwinian anarchy.

So the GOP playbook, cut taxes for the top 1% and then do not pay for anything. Increase spending to force even greater deficits.

Create HUGE deficits and start telling all the followers oh do not worry we are fixing it all.

We have already seen them fix the ACA by trying to kill it.

No matter what the GOP needs to lose control of the House and Senate.

Are you collecting medicare and/or social security? What do you have against fixing a broken system?
