Are people honestly criticizing someone for being an age appropriate child and being interested in the ice cream truck instead of more important global issues, as you see them?
You folks are ridiculous. You feel so threatened by other views that this is how low you stoop.

Yeah, a bit.
Honestly I do not find it age appropriate for a 14 year old to get all jazzed up over an ice cream truck. Its not because I feel threatened (why would I??). Its because getting excited over an ice cream truck instead of taking any interest in the world past your sidewalk is something I'd expect of a third grader, not an 8th grader. JMO YMMV

Very weird experience you had, but I didn't know many loners or nerds as a kid. I hung out with a different crowd.
I would say I was about as "mentally developed" as the other students. A silly thing to claim.
If anything, I was more serious than the average Jr. High School student because I spent my summer late nights ready Astronomy books.
But more interested in the ice cream truck than the real world? Doesn't strike me as normal for a 13/14 year old.
