It's happened dozens of times. I don't think it excuses what she did, I'm just saying that this sort of thing is not "shocking." It's tacky and it's short sighted and it's not remotely funny.
It lacks the ability to be a good protest or social commentary because she didn't frame it as such.
She just stood there with some bloody head like it would be really deep.
But, I don't find her remotely funny and I don't think much of her, so this hardly surprises me.
Yeah, to me, as an adult, it's not shocking either. She's like the female Andy Dick. Just someone who tries way too hard to be edgy but in the end, nobody cares because she's Kathy Griffin. She knew this would blow up for the attention, but...the problem is she absolutely sucks to begin with.
But, still, I don't think I could tastefully think anything like this is acceptable in today's society either. Like I said earlier, the guy has kids and grandkids and a family still, at the end of the day. While I may disagree with Trump, I'd never think someone's head being chopped off is shocking or funny. Yet alone the sitting POTUS.

Yup. I didn't like Obama being hanged in effigy by protesters and I don't like Trump being "symbolically beheaded" by a hack comedian.
It's rude, it's tacky, and it does disturb children. Thoughtless. That's what it is.

I think the photo is pretty ugly and disturbing.
It is pretty shocking that somebody can go this low. I am not trying to put words in that poster's mouth, but maybe this is what she meant. Pretty SHOCKING that some people can go this low.

And it's not just some people here on the forum. They are out walking amongst us too.
The only good thing I can see out of what Kathy Griffin did is that we now have a line established.
And with that line we can see who is on what side of that line.
With such a deep seeded hate of a line we can see who is good and who is evil here on the forum and out in society.
For those of you who bring up freedom of speech would you still be spouting that if someone did this with a head of your mom, dad, or children?

The photo of Kathy Griffin posing with the severed head of President Donald Trump could be added to the long list of radical Islamic terrorists’ propaganda videos showing beheadings, including many committed by children.
Let's be clear - The LINE was drawn when the Leftists, the Political Insider Elites(both Parties) and the Corporate Propagandist Media - refused to accept the Election of the President of the United States. It's not disgusting pictures and Media LIES that are the Line.
It's our entire System of Government - they REFUSE to accept the Election.
They are not just against the President, they are also against every single voter who cast a vote for President Trump.
I actually have no other comments for this other than just...these people are seriously trying to get Trump in the WH again in 2020. But seems like the media is pushing for his death.
No matter what side of the political fence you're on, some things just go a bit too far. This is one of them, IMO.
Really, I can't believe Hollywood has come to this. But some people (especially aging comediennes) will do anything to stay in the spotlight.

If you haven't already, please watch the link in the first quote. It is a video of the filming of the photo shoot. In that video she says, "We have to move to Mexico today 'cause we're going to go to prison, federal prison." She then says, "...'cause we're not surviving this."
She knew exactly what the outcome of this would be, and she didn't care. She got her extra 15 minutes.
Yes, IMO she should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Yes, so should anybody else who threatens violence against another human being.
