It's a standing invitation to the current POTUS, who is the honorary president of the BSA. They could no more have refused Trump than any other sitting president. Sadly, but perhaps not unexpectedly, Trump abused the privilege.

Maybe it's because I'm young and my parents raised me to have class, but I would never boo a former president, no matter if I disagreed with their politics.

I'm sure those are the same people who threw a fit when Kaep kneeled during the anthem.
