Any Scoutmaster who witnessed the booing of a former president or administration member and did not immediately review Scouting values with his troop following the address failed those boys.

Nothing like a captive audience, eh?

Funny too, how when kids were enthusiastic about Obama or Hillary Clinton, it had to be because their parents "programmed" them to respond positively but now, all of a sudden, these kids are all free-thinkers.

Riiight.

I have great respect for the Boy Scouts as an organization. If the President wanted to speak to the scouts this is the protocol that should have been followed:

1. The scout organization should have told the President that he was welcome to do so.

2. It should have been made clear that all remarks would have to be non-political.

3. A copy of the speech should have first been given to the BSA organization and reviewed.

4. The President should have been asked to strike all remarks that were political in nature. These include references to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, health care legislation, etc. If the President refused to do so, the speech should have been cancelled.

This type of a speech is one that should be given as President of the United States, not as the head the of the republican party.

President Trump should not have done what he did and the Boy Scouts of America should not have allowed him to give this speech. There should be repercussions for the scout organization for allowing it to be used in such a naked partisan manner.
Could not agree more. And the scout leaders who were booing the former president along with him should be asked to step down as they did not embody the qualities that they are supposed to be teaching these young men.

Do you think his message to them yesterday was appropriate? I'm surprised he didn't have them chanting, "lock her up."

Boy Scouts are a very traditional family values American values organization so it's not surprising they loved Trump's speech after what they had to put up with the past eight years.

Being a scout is not about amassing billions of dollars. You clearly have no clue and are only in here to spew propaganda.

As a former Scout, clearly the President was (yet again) totally inappropriate. I don't get why everything has to be about him, him, him. He was disrespectful, political, and way over the line in the speech to the Boy Scouts. Instead of remarks on citizenship, values and civic responsibility, he was full of vulgar innuendo, petty grievances, and snide put-downs of others. These are not the values of the Boy Scouts and not how we want young people to grow up. I know a lot of parents are letting the national organization know their feelings today.
