this is a good point and i agree.

It’s because every faction has its totems and taboos (with apologies to the person who coined that phrase). For the Left, criticism of racial-minorities, or advocates of “alternative” practices (be they in sexual matters or whatever else), is taboo. For the Right, it’s taboo to deviate from adoration of America’s traditional symbols, or to criticize Christianity. No faction has unconditional and unalloyed embrace of freedom. Rather, freedom to pursue the faction’s interests is hallowed, while freedom to do the opposite is suspect, if not outright pernicious.

Trump is just giving a voice to the millions who don't have one. Not everyone is so fortunate to have a megaphone or platform or cameras on them to cite any idea that passes thru their heads. It's pretty much a one way tool of the media and now that most places online have even shut down their comment sections it's not hard to see why so many people are angry. They have to listen to 24/7 news about "whateverthingistrending" that usually pushes a progressive idea or slams a conservative one while painting it as something EVERYONE agrees with, and there is no way to challenge it or talk back. People voted for Trump to do it for them, this isn't rocket science people.

LOL! The owners BETTER do what the Left and the black community want or they're going to be in BIG trouble. Cowardly frauds.

You are as silly as your dumbass leader ! You are "fixing to send the NFL into bankruptcy"..........puleeze, you guys can't even get a wall built, or get a healthcare bill passed. Sorry to disillusion you, but football is way more popular than Trump, and you will have zero impact on anything.

Your boy needs to get himself under control and knock off all of this stuff that has nothing to do with running this country. He is like the village idiot who can't concentrate on one thing for more than a couple of minutes before his mind starts to wander.

Fixing to send the NFL into bankruptcy ! Wow. Do you guys even think before you post stuff ?

Only in America.
That is the point of it. You said: "like it matters or something"

Doesn't matter at all to you what with all the white privileges you get. It does matter to people of color.

Well NOW they just want to stick it to Trump so it's become a new thing entirely. Funny how that happens.

So football players earning millions per year don't want to do the pledge of allegiance or show any patriotism or tradition.... this is liberal heaven... the liberals are probably outside dancing...

true enough, however those are few in number. the reality is that what has happened is the issue he wanted to bring to the forefront has been pretty much glossed over and ignored, and that is unfortunate.

Both sides are wrong. If you don’t like the conservative don’t go to the speaking engagement. If you don’t like the player, don’t watch the game. But it’s wrong to try to stop the speech or get the players fired (or call them a son of a b****).

Neither side has the moral high ground.
for the most part i agree with you. however you are wrong about the players protesting in the manner they do and keeping their jobs. we do have free of speech in this country, remember the first amendment

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

this is a restriction on government, and government only. it says congress shall make no law, it doesnt say you can say anything you want and your employer has to accept it, unless your employer is the government, and even then. while we do have freedom of speech in this country, we DO NOT have freedom from consequences.

if you went to work one day, and bad mouthed your employer to every customer that came into the business, should you keep your job? i say no you shouldnt.

if you are football player and your employer tells you you have to stand for the national anthem, and you refuse, should you be able to do what you want anyway without consequence? again i say no you shouldnt. why? because your employer is not the government. the first amendment does not apply to them because they are a private entity, and you work for them at their pleasure, and yours. if you dont like what the rules your employer set down for you to follow, then you have the choice to leave the company, or your employer has the choice to reprimand you or fire you. in the case of kapernick he ultimately got benched, and then was given his release, but it wasnt about the manner in which he chose to protest, it was his lack of doing good things for the team performance wise.
