It took you 2 months of dating someone to figure that out? Usually people figure this out before deciding to go on the first date, or after the first date or two. Maybe you realized it early on but didn't have a problem with it at that time.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea that there are hordes of women out there who would demand that a man give up his airplane and sell his house.
Me, I'd be asking for for plane rides! And if a man can afford a private plane, he's very unlikely to be living in a hovel, and most likely is living in a home nicer than any I've owned.
I suspect there's more to this rejection story...
Some people have poor judgement in choosing who they date. It is usually mostly based on looks, so I'm not sure what they expect.
Court side with females in most situations from divorce proceedings to child guardianship. Females often walk out with monthly child support fees exceeding a mortgage payment and heavily subsidized tax wise by the government. This leaves the higher earning male with more assets more stressed and vulnerable to bankruptcy and depression.
Your certainly welcome to your opinion.
Most all divorces with exception of celebrities and the very wealthy never go to court. The terms of the divorce, asset and debt division, custody arrangement, child support, etc. are hashed out between clients, lawyers and mediators. The only time it goes before a judge is if an agreement cant be reached and the final dissolution.
Child support is calculated based on income. Often there are deals made that affect the monthly CS payment like trading for assets such as the home, who pays the insurance, amount of time spent, etc.
As far as guardianship or custodial parent it most often goes to the one who has throughout the child's life been the custodial parent who most often is the mother.
IDK about stress, bankruptcy and depression but I know that cutting a check for 400$/month (which is the average CS payment) is alot easier than providing a home, utilities, food, childcare and actually taking care of the day to day needs of a child and its associated worry, exhaustion and costs.
Just an observation. Every week in my city there are multiple fundraisers for breast cancer (which has a 99% survival rate), I see signs everywhere for "Girls Who Can Code" classes, "Feminist Karate" classes, then there are all these engineering scholarships exclusively for women. I almost feel as if women have been elevated to a sacred status. Meanwhile in my city, the streets are filled with homeless vets who've been burned/maimed. Or I walk by construction sites and see men laboring at 4 a.m. in the pouring cold rain. Seems like both men and women have hardships in society, but men's problems don't get as much publicity because there's a huge effort to "prove" that everything is peachy for men and everything sucks for women.
Women have made huge gains since the 1950's where they were relegated to housewife duty, when few were breadwinners or professionals or businesswomen, and almost none in politics. Don't forget that it's only been 97 years since suffrage for women was enacted. There continues to be a differential in pay and opportunities in most companies.
With all that being said, I tend to agree with you that some "men's" issues are not as visible.
Just for information purposes, here are the 2017 statistics:
Female breast cancer: 252,710 cases 40,610 deaths
Male prostate cancer: 161,360 cases 26,730 deaths
So, breast cancer is twice as common. But I rarely see fundraisers or awareness groups or much lip service at all given to prostate cancer, a big male killer. Or other cancers that kill both genders. Why?
You can be anything you want to be on the internet.
Gah! You beat me to it, I was going to say the exact same thing, lol.
