IF he does, he is an azz - this is to be a comfort /sympathy call - not a political discussion.

He is an ass with a capital A. The man has no class and less brains. What an embarrassment.

given that the president sends service members all over the globe to fight unjust wars, defend corporate interests and to tresspass and kill the natives (while not defending the freedoms of any American ) which ones actually did care?

No. Come on, think for yourself. Don't just go along with this idiotic take on the incident.

And why would you hope he said something like that? It's terribly unfeeling, cold and cruel. I'm sure they knew what he signed up for. It's just not something you want to hear from the president or anybody else. Obviously, both you and he need a lesson in what not to say to a grieving widow.

Are you saying this because you truly believe that Trump was being a good person by saying that? Or is this just another way of making excuses for Trump?

As I wrote earlier, "He knew what he signed up for" is a compliment to the soldier, a way of saying he was a brave professional who chose to do a dangerous job, knowing the risks to his own safety.

The soldier knows what he signed up for, as does his family. His death is not the time to say that.
