"There’s the Joint Committee on Taxation, established in 1926 with congressional oversight to prepare revenue estimates on proposals related to taxation. There’s also the Congressional Budget Office, which produces independent analysis of the budgetary effects of legislation."
"Recently released analyses from both groups come to the same conclusion. Over both the short- and long-term, the benefits of the Republican proposal is weighted to wealthier Americans."
Everyone from faith leaders and ordinary Americans to JCT and CBO are saying the same thing -- it benefits the wealthy at the expense of working Americans.
"It’s no wonder then that the GOP tax bills are now among the least popular pieces of major legislation in modern history, with the public rejecting it by a two-to-one margin. Other than Republicans, all party, gender, education, age and racial groups disapprove of the bill."
I'd rather the bill not pass, but I see the upside if it does. It makes Republicans in blue states vulnerable. Contrary to popular belief, there are Republican suburban districts lying outside of major cities on the East Coast, and these districts would be disadvantaged by this bill.
Perhaps some of us were concerned with the deficit under the previous administration. And your point -- does that mean you are okay with increasing the deficit under Trump but didn't like the deficit under Obama. Or are you as concerned with the deficit now as you were under OBama?
I am ok with another trillion getting added on in order to get some economic growth moving in this country. Regardless of what we do. The deficit will jump another 10 trillion. Obama added on so much debt because of liberal policies. Liberals Import immigrants who vote for big government. The larger the government , there more spending happens. We need to decrease spending, and shrink government in order to achieve any decrease in the deficit. The spending is out of control.
