This monstrosity is going to pass. All I can say is oh well. I don't like it but my voice is so small and our government doesn't care about us, both sides of the aisle.

Not surprised. People here in Arizona are tired of our companies moving abroad for the past decade. If Democrats have a better plan to make our economy more competitive I would love to hear it.

With McCain signing on, it looks like the Republicans are going to get their tax increase bill through. While they tout it will cut taxes, this will mainly only apply to big corporations and the nation's most wealthy individuals. The GOP is sending average Americans a big FU message for Christmas.

What are you talking about? Unemployment is the lowest its been in decades. Companies move abroad because people there make pennies an hour and the companies want to be closer to their big markets. They are not coming back.

Our economy can be more competitive if we start fighting corruption, strengthen anti-trust legislation, break up monopolies and massively invest in public education and trade schools.

But this is not on the agenda of the ruling donor class. Their agenda is not to make "America more competitive" but to line their own pockets while laughing at the voters.

One thing we have learned -- American voters will settle for crap as long as it is their party crap.

Corporations are not moving due to taxes, they are and have been moving due to labor cost and regulations.

Labor cost and providing healthcare is the biggest expense for businesses. Taxes are an afterthought because guarantee they are not paying anywhere close to 30% in taxes after they deduct all their expenses and screw the numbers

And according to various articles the economy has been stable and picking up. The wealthy does not need a tax break but we do need more benefit programs for Americans, focus education, healthcare reform, etc etc

We are giving corporations something they really haven’t been complaining about

Ask yourself what will be cut for average Americans to give the wealthy a HUGE tax break

I can’t believe some Americans are celebrating a $1500 increase on their tax refund. That’s nothing, the ride of healthcare cost will wipe that gain out

Rubbish.

This bill sunsets the tax cuts for the middle class but makes permanent the MASSIVE GIVE AWAY to the rich with

PERMANENT Abolishment of estate taxes

PERMANENT Abolishment of AMT

and for the middle classes and working classes, a short 5 year phase out . year 1 most people get a token tax cut, by year 5 most people are paying MORE TAX than they pay today.

And if it is extended like some right wing folk here say, than that means the 1.5Trillion debt being created..... is going to at LEAST DOUBLE!!!

since when are you guys worried about another trillion in debt? Last time I checked , it rose over 10 trillion with the Obozo administration. I did not see anyone complaining then.

Whenever Republican politicians tell you about the high tax rate in the USA, they are very careful not to tell you the average real rate which is substantially lower. The other thing the politicians are careful not to let you know -- while other countries pay lower corporate taxes, many of them pay other higher payroll tax. You never hear the Republican politicians compare what Ford Canada pays in tax compared to Ford USA - in all taxes. NEVER.....

You never hear the discussion on labor costs and compensation costs in the USA.

Even when asked about the real tax rate as opposed to the stated -- Republicans divert. They never answer or discuss that issue.

Corporations are enjoying record profits. CEO's are enjoying record salary/bonuses and we still think it is because of the tax rate they aren't paying people more.
